Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, March 12, 2026

A Skokie woman made headlines this week after her family and a local politician claimed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security detained her for nearly 48 hours before she ultimately ended up in Wisconsin " an extraordinary story disputed by accounts from the federal government, two sheriff's departments and her purported employer. Summer Sundas "Sunny" Naqvi's family alleges the 28-year-old woman was taken into custody Thursday morning at O'Hare International Airport after arriving on a flight from Istanbul. Naqvi, whom Cook County records show was born in Evanston

I know the original story was posted here at the DR. The one I linked provides evidence that refutes her claims. This woman also has a bit of a history:

Naqvi made sexual harassment allegations against a professor at UIUC, which the university investigated and deemed not credible, linking them to blackmail for a grade and money. She faced felony charges including intimidation, aggravated unlawful restraint, residential burglary, and criminal damage to property tied to incidents with two ex-boyfriends.

In short, she's another Jussie Smollett and we have people on this site who uncritically bought her story, hook, line and sinker.

I neglected to source this paragraph.

I see that anecdotes are still evidence in TrumpWorld.

This is a single episode that mitigates none of ICE's murders and mayhem... it's just a desperate, flailing attempt to be relevant.

In the history of the Retort, has there been any nasty thing you can think of that BELL has not been for?

BullBringer supports pedophilia.

He'd prefer to engage in pedophilia, but he's too fat to be able to get out of his bed.

He may have drawn the line at Ketchup on kielbasa, but I'm not even sure about that any more.

"Ride with an outlaw, die with an outlaw.", is a good ol' Texas proverb.

"Why anecdotal evidence is not considered robust proof:
Small Sample Size: Relying on one or two experiences cannot represent general trends or the typical case.'

What am I charging you for Engrish Ressons?

I like how your hatred for all things Trump and ICE makes this nasty lie justifiable. No principles.

Did anyone waste their time reading the article?

It doesn't prove anything.

It doesn't attempt to prove anything.

It's simply raises questions.

Which is apparently enough "evidence" for MAGA morons.

Here is what I does prove. Local sheriffs have no record of her being detained in their facility. The stated purpose of her flight was a work trip. The company she claims to be employed by states she's not an employee and that none of their employees have been detained at Langley.

Then, we have Homeland security's statement. Granted you will reflexively assume they are lying however given the other evidence revealed in this article their version of events is far more plausible than hers.

Lastly, once Chi Trib started asking inconvenient questions she stopped responding.

This sure looks like Smollett 2.0.

Why is that surprising? ICE has an abysmal record of following procedure.

we have Homeland security's statement

Which has fallen apart under Kristi Noem.
