From the Carolinas to Florida to Texas, anti-Muslim sentiment has permeated state legislatures and political campaigns. Shariah -- a term for traditional Islamic rules -- has become a catchall for criticisms of Muslim culture and insinuations that those beliefs are incompatible with American society. ... There is a bitter exhaustion among some Muslim Southerners, who feel the need to explain and justify their faith, even if they were born in the United States or have become naturalized citizens.

Through much of the South, if you're not the right form of publicly doctrinaire "Christian," you face the same thing, from social to business dealings, just on a slightly more subtle scale.

Incompatible with American society, or incompatible wth the White Christian Nationalism that the GOP seems to be espousing?

Let's talk about the Islamic structure. There is no head, in fact, that is part of it strategy. The authority is decentralized, with religious guidance provided by diverse, independent scholars, imams.
It's fair to say there are moderates, but there are a large number of extremist "imams".

Given the following, we can now answer with a better perspective.

Incompatible with American society or incompatible wth the White Christian Nationalism that the GOP seems to be espousing?

Which mosque? Which Muslims?

What are those? Below is the stance of the many extremist Muslims; it's not just an opinion, they practice it, and expect you to practice it as well.

Lets take women/females, are they equal or subservient to men? When we look around the Islamic world, what do you see, treated as equals?
Lets take other religions? When we look around the world do the Islamic countries have large populations of other religions, or just "token" membership?
Lets take slavery? When we look around the world, what countries still have slaves (sure, sure they claim they are outlawed to get UN money, but its not enforced)?
Lets take homosexuality? When we look at the Islamic world, is homosexuality in the open?
Lets take food? Is non-halal allowed in Islamic countries?

How about blocking the roads to pray?
Call to Prayer throughout the town/city??

If Christians did this, would you have a problem?

Are these American society values? I contend they are not. Is the US an Islamic nation without the religion?

How do you know the mosque being built is moderate? Or extremist? Or is it possible to be built as moderate and turn extremist?

All of these reasonable questions the West isn't talking about. As I have stated, the West needs to neuter Islam extremism.
This will be very difficult given its proposition.
Its funny for me on the outside, as Muslims are clearly as intolerant, if not demonstrably more so, than Christians, yet the Lumpers will argue for Islam and not for Christianity.
In the end this is about the Tolerance Paradox.

I am reminded of the story of the scorpion (Islam) and the frog(Lumpers).

Lumpers will help Islam get a foot hold in the US, and Islam will begin imposing its will, destroying the fabric of America, as Islam does everywhere its not the primary religion.

Lumpers will be all upset and ask why? It is the Islamic nature.

@#4 ... Only the best from the Christians. ...

I'm not fully there yet.

That's why I specified the White Christian Nationalism and its apparent takeover of the GOP.

Last century I attended a fancy-shmancy black tie event in NYC.

Europeans and Americans all mixed in.

A few seats away from me, a distinguished-looking elderly Englishman made a derogatory comment about the waiter:

"#~%*(& jolliwog!"

So, I turned to my friend and quietly asked who the Brit was.

"Oh, that's so-and-so. He was a Sergeant-Major in the Royal Field Artillery back in the days of Churchill and Gandhi."

After thanking my friend, I sipped my drink and thought to myself: "Gosh, this white guy still hates the Indians after 35 years."

Hating someone makes subjugating or killing them easier, as well as funding their demise overseas.

Ask the Apaches or the Palestinians.

That's why Laura Loomer, Randy Fine, Alan Dershowitz, and AIPAC-ers promote Islamophobia in the US and demean NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D).

"Hamas!"

Onenut. Why do you fear and hate Islam?

Islam Is Decentralized, they are hardly monolithic in belief. That point is True.

Extreme Muslims are more frightening than Trump and Christian Nationalism?

How So?

Muslims have Standards of Conduct. They are Very Concientious about them. They have Strong Families.

All things you purport to Believe are good things.

So, Why do you Fear and Hate them?

Trump has No Standards, Only Whims and Appetites, things you say are bad for society.

Yet you support him and fear them.

Weird.
