Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth erupted emotionally during his Congressional hearing when California Rep. John Garamendi (D) accused him and Donald Trump of lying to the American people, calling the US aggression against Iran a "war of choice" and a "quagmire."

Hegseth attacks Garamendi: "You stain the troops when you call this a quagmire two months in, handing propaganda to our enemies. Shame on you. Don't say I support the troops on one hand, and then a two-month mission is a quagmire. That's a false equivalation [sic]. Who are you cheering for here?"

Operation EPSTEIN FURY is costing the hardworking American taxpayer billions and billions of dollars and the US government will have even less money in the future for Medicaid and Medicare.

The next generation of Americans will pay for the Big Beautiful Bill and this stupid and illegal war on behalf of Israel which accomplished nothing but a quagmire which raised our fuel and food prices and is imperiling the global aviation industry.

That's how it all begun.
We were - knee deep in the Big Muddy,
But the big fool said to push on ... .

"Sergeant, go on! I forded this river
'Bout a mile above this place.
It'll be a little soggy but just keep slogging.
We'll soon be on dry ground."
We were, waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool said to push on.

(Pete Seeger, "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy")

I thought Drinky Pete's performance this week was successful. He didn't want to answer any questions, sought to push back hard on any challenge, provided a huge word salad responding to nearly every question, took no responsibility for the conduct of the war, tried to bully the Dems at every turn, didn't provide any support for his estimate of the cost of the war, and spoke only in passing about the real purpose of the hearings, i.e., to discuss next year's defense budget. Of course, for those providing oversight, the week was lacking. Maybe after the November elections (if they are held) things will be different...

I once had a boat named "The Black Hole".

It's where all my money went for years until I got smart and finally sold it.

Happiest day-s of a boater's life are the day he buys his 2oat and the day he sells it! Here in .Fort Lauderdale you hear that line all the time. The other one is: A boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money!

It's almost like having a drunk couch tumor from Faux Nooz as Secretary of Defense was a bad idea.
