Of course the United States isn't prepared. Trump has sabotaged the medical prevention and response system in such a way that the next pandemic will get us another million dead, at least.

We've never had an external enemy do as much damage to this country as Trump.

I'm filing this under "traitor".

We weren't prepared under him the last time.

Now we're even less so with RFK in charge at HHS and all the MAHA idiots in charge at various levels, an economy being systematically wrecked that will be incapable of taking any supply shocks and global diplomacy so terrible cooperation will be hard to come by.

Another pandemic will be hunger games in the US.

Hell, I'm no expert, but I know, like you, they are not prepared.

It took a lot of pressure to get Trump to do SOMETHING when COVID hit. And considering he'd already disbanded the "Pandemic Response Unit" who were experts on dealing with epidemics and pandemics, we know he isn't up to the task and couldn't care less.

MAGA elected Trump twice, so they clearly don't care about much of anything to do with health and human services.

"Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy - it's a feature of religion or totalitarianism."
Secretary of Health & Human Services Kennedy, Jr., 2025

"Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous - whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful ligh. And I think you said that hasn't been checked, but we're going to test it? And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, either through the skin or some other way. And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute - one minute - and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning?Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that."
President of the United States Trump, 2020
