A $38 Billion Program Under the Microscope

"The DHS OIG recently announced an 'audit of ICE's acquisition of detention space,' a review that will cover all 11 vacant warehouses US ICE purchased over just a few months last winter. The program, formally known as the ICE Detention Reengineering Initiative, was funded through the One Big Beautiful Bill passed by congressional Republicans and planned to dedicate $38.3 billion to retrofitting commercial warehouses into detention centres capable of holding more than 92,000 detainees."

DHS also wasted a king's ransom purchasing a fleet of marked vehicles that ICE can't use because of Kristi Noem's 28-year-old idiotic assistant Madison Sheahan who has since left DHS with her tail between her legs and is risibly running for congress in Ohio. Good-for-nothing Corey Lewandowski signed off on her ridiculous purchase order of the useless ICE vehicles, another blow to the wallets and purses of the hardworking American taxpayer.
