President Trump late Thursday invoked his predecessor in attempting to explain comments by Chinese President Xi Jinping as the two leaders meet during a high-stakes visit, blaming former President Biden and his administration for the U.S.'s "decline."

... "When President Xi very elegantly referred to the United States as perhaps being a declining nation, he was referring to the tremendous damage we suffered during the four years of Sleepy Joe Biden and the Biden Administration, and on that score, he was 100% correct," the president wrote in a post on Truth Social. "Our Country suffered immeasurably with open borders, high taxes, transgender for everybody, men in women's sports, DEI, horrible trade deals, rampant crime, and so much more!"

Trump did not point to a specific comment made by Xi. But the post comes after his Chinese counterpart, in opening remarks at a U.S.-China bilateral meeting, questioned if the two nations could overcome the "Thucydides Trap" -- a theory suggesting that when a rising power threatens to displace an established one, a war could result.

Xi in 2021 also said, "The East is rising and the West is declining." The White House did not clarify the quote referenced in Trump's post in response to The Hill's request for comment.

The president added on social media that China's leader "was not referring to the incredible rise that the United States has displayed to the world during the 16 spectacular months of the Trump Administration," referencing matters such as the military operation in Venezuela and the war with Iran. ...

Did Pres Trump even have a modicum of a clue about the meaning of Pres Xi's comment about the "Thucydides Trap"?

Is anyone surprised that the bottom of our societal barrel, MAGA, is orchestrating our own decline?

Wait until they start turning on their fellow citizens as they lash out in order to avoid acknowledging this.

*** Poll: Majority Says America's Best Years Are Behind Us ***

"Ahead of the United States' 250th anniversary, 59% of Americans say the country's best years are behind us, while 40% say its best years are ahead. Americans are also much more pessimistic (44%) than optimistic (28%) when asked to think about what things will be like in the US 50 years from now. Another 27% are neither optimistic nor pessimistic, according to a December 2025 Pew Research Center survey."

~snip~

This poll was conducted before America's catastrophic war against Iran on behalf of Israel.

The next such poll will reflect more pessimism after the economic effects of the BBB and this idiotic war against Iran kicks in.

**** Axios: "Desperate" Farmers in Worst Crisis Since 1980s ****

"Farmers across the Midwest are entering planting season under mounting financial pressure, as America's illegal war against Iran on behalf of Israel drives up diesel and fertilizer prices-- deepening an agricultural downturn that some say is the worst since the crisis of the 1980s.

Rising fuel and fertilizer costs threaten to push more family farms out of business, drive up food prices and further strain rural economies already battered by trade disruptions, inflation and extreme weather.

Farmers are grappling with a confluence of forces, including skyrocketing energy prices triggered by Benjamin Netanyahu and Dummkopf Trumpf's Iran war, which led to the shuttering of Strait of Hormuz, a vital passageway for fossil fuels and spiking fertilizer prices and shortages after the Iranians blocked shipments through the strait."
