GOP Votes to Protect Payouts to Pardoned Offenders

Republicans on the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee voted unanimously to block an amendment to a bill that would prevent child sex offenders who were pardoned by Donald Trump from receiving payment from a newly established $1.8 billion slush fund that Trump's personal attorney Todd Blanche agreed to have the government create as part of the settlement involving a member of the Trump led IRS during his first term having leaked part of Trump's tax returns.

I hope that our Republic survives, and I hope that a thorough investigation of all of these s*&^bags reveals what exactly this administration is using to control them.

Because I think we'll find two general flavors - the boring will be those who simply sold their soul for cheap thinking they would get some power and wealth, but the far more interesting will be those who are being blackmailed.

Could be the word is out to powerful members of the Republican Party ...yes, the Epstein debacle is about very powerful men committing criminal acts, and Trump is going to protect them no matter the cost. And they either support Trump, or they get primaried over and over.

I suspect there is an entire culture of blackmail. These people blackmail one another in an endless circle. Their behavior has been so shitty, so inexplicable, that the theory of blackmail to explain it was advanced almost from the start.

The GOP behaves towards Trump like a pack of servile dogs. Trump behaves towards Putin and Xi like a servile dog.

Blackmail is a good theory.

Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, the former GOP leader, called the settlement "utterly stupid, morally wrong."

"The nation's top law enforcement official is asking for a slush fund to pay people who assault cops?" McConnell said in a statement afterward.
