As for me, an oldster...I love NASA, but until they fix the coming SS shortfall, and other FDR safety net programs, I see no need to spend billions to such an excursion.

The little cynic who lives in me head is raging that Elon is running a grift on the US Government on this situation. The bigger question: why, with a war going on, farmer struggling, a pandemic two steps from our front door, and a mentally ill president is this country spending money on another moon shot? Asking for a country at risk...
