TMZ DC with perhaps the most brutal video from Trump's Great American State Fair, showing Dr. Oz on stage bragging to Dean Cain about how big the crowd is, only for the reporter to pan around and show absolutely nobody is there. Original post: x.com/i/status/207 ...

This may be an enduring metaphor for the Trump years.

The failure of Trump's Fourth Of July party should have been anticipated.

No one in this country is happy. Why pretend?

Meanwhile, I do remember the 1976 celebrations of our Country's 200th brthday.

For example, Bicentennial 1976, tall ships and celebration in front of the World Trade Center.

1976 OpSail Event

... Operation Sail 1976 provided a centerpiece for the U.S. Bicentennial celebration. The event, which took five years to plan, featured even more tall ships than the 1964 gathering, including the Soviet Union's czarina of the sea, the Kruzenshtern, which Frank Braynard had won over against all political odds on a trip to Moscow.
Kruzenshtern (Soviet Union)

The ships raced from the Canary Islands to Bermuda, then proceeded "in company" to New York, where they were met by a vast spectator fleet. In partnership with the Navy, Operation Sail 1976 also resurrected the tradition of holding an International Naval Review, which brought together a peacetime armada of 50 warships under as many flags. From the deck of the USS Forrestal, President Gerald Ford reviewed the parade of sail, complete with a 21-gun salute.

In Frank Braynard's estimation, it was "the biggest assemblage of ships since the Battle of Navarino in 1827," and as one skipper recalled, "The hospitality of New Yorkers in 1976 has never been matched." ...

It was an event.

I was on an overlook on the banks of the Hudson River watching the procession of those amazing Tall Ships.

The celebration back in 1976 was about our Country. Not the current president.

Here's a sample of the image from my view at that day ...

Note that there is a ledge below the edge of that viewpoint. I and my Frat Brothers camped out on that ledge at 4am the morning of Op Sail to secure that awesome viewing spot.

Yea, it was worth it.

Op Sail was an event I still look back upon and revel in.

Of course, it's failing. Trump is making it all about him. Not surprisingly, the majority of Americans not only can't stand that putrid pile of s*&^, but they're also increasingly less proud of America itself.

Only orange turd gobbling MAGA bottom of the barrel dwellers are still proud of America and think Trump is anything but a corrupt, embarrassing piece of s*&^.

I think I figured out what happened to Donald "Old Yeller" Trump's Big Fat Fourth of July Yuugely Embarassing Flopathon.

Is it just possible that so some reason, nobody who isn't already a loser or swindler wants to be even remotely associated with one of Jeffrey Epstein's odious "wingmen," a thirty-four times convicted felon, crypto manipulator, adjudicated sexual abuser, grifter, conman and thief, a bum who so misused his "cancer charity" that a court shut it down and forced him to repay money he stole, a slob who cannot stop talking about himself with ridiculous word salads befitting a lunatic mistakenly loosed from the looney bin?

Bottom line? Normals don't want anything to do with the creature.

* That charity Trump flucked was a cancer charity for ... wait for it ... children.

Steve Bannon is basically saying today that "high information" MAGA will no longer vote for Donald. He's wishing for an explosive midterm turnout of low information voters.

When you reject your god, are you any longer a member of the church?
