Similarly, Germany raised its national terror threat level from "Abstract" to "High."

Thank goodness I can always use my Swiss passport- visa free, short-term travel to over 180 countries. FDJT.

Lucky you. Many of us don't have another passport. But many Americans are applying for foreign passports based on ancestry to Ireland, Italy, or Germany.

I know an American whose mother was a Turkish citizen and so he can apply for their citizenship. But I think he would then either have to serve in the Turkish military or pay a hefty lump-sum "in lieu of military service" fee.

That's what the Gastarbeiter Turks in Germany do.

"Ja, I'll just pay."

I wouldn't trust a word out of the current state department.

I will ignore this, and I'd recommend everybody else do the same.

Travel tip for Americanos while abroad: Ditch the Trump gear, spruce up a bit (if locals aren't wearing shorts consider following their example), adjust your voice to "normal," pick up a few words/ expressions in the local lingo and be polite when using them.

Simple, I know, but sheesh ... .

A couple of pro tips for the MAGA travelers who go overseas this summer:
-proudly wear your red hats, Trump regalia and stars and stripes clothing, to show those folks you are 'Murican!
-in a place where they just refuse to speak English? Just talk louder when addressing waiters, hotel desk clerks and people on the street, with a tone of superiority and exasperation
-openly criticize the funny food and cark-colored beer
-Cargo shorts are fashion-forward at all times
