A federal magistrate judge has ruled that Trump must turn over detailed financial information in connection with his defamation lawsuit against the BBC. The decision opened the door for the BBC to explore the finances of more than 400 companies owned by a Trump family trust.

After suddenly realizing that the word "discovery" works in both directions, Trump is making a futile effort to exclude "business records" from his lawsuit, thus limiting the damages strictly to "reputation."

It's an uphill battle considering that his name is also that of his business "brand" and is thus fair game. BBC has a good case in that respect.

But I agree with ANGRYDAD. There is nothing on heaven or earth that will make Trump release the business records of 100 companies that bear his "brand."

All-in-all, Trump has once again dug his own grave. He is nothing if not redundant.

Sounds reasonable to me. In essence, Trump is claiming that his businesses have suffered financial harm at the hands of the BBC. Examination of the records of those businesses should bear out the claim, so the defendant should be able to have the proof of damage presented to them and the court. In this case, ain't no way Der Dotard is going to show any such records, not now, not ever. The Dotard's attorneys are already amending their suit, so as to avoid the delivery of such records. That change will sink the suit. The result will be a win for the BBC...

IN THE MEANTIME, RELEASE THE TRUMP-EPSTEIN FILES...

I'm surprised that Trump's bootlicking legal team didn't warn Trump about the perils of "Discovery" before they went forward with this lawsuit

Or, maybe they did and he didn't listen. . . as usual. Considering Trump always thinks he's smarter than his lawyers
anyway.
