Iran said an agreement with Oman has been reached on a proposed route for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a potential step toward a reopening of the critical waterway for energy supplies.

Yeah.

My view is currently along the lines of ... "I'll believe it when I see it."

That aside I agree with #2, that Iran and Oman seem to be the parties negotiating the opening of the Strait does speak volumes.

The countries in the Gulf region are trying to negotiate to open the Strait that Pres Trump's whimsical war had closed.

If the Strait does re-open, I suspect that Pres Trump will try to place himself front and center in the reason it re-opened.

His usual "me-me-me-me, it's all about me" refrain.

2 days ago, Iran is considering creating a "voluntary fund" by Gulf states and some European members to cover navigation, environmental protection, search and rescue, and other services in the Strait of Hormuz. Pretty good for Iran.

It gave them control of the Straits and allowed them to shut it down.

Control they did not have before the war.

Bombing Iranians does not bother Iranian leaders. They killed 30,000 of their own people to stay in power and you think America killing a few more actually bothers them much?
