I expect that the Tesla Semi will disappear overnight just like the solar roof panels. Fleet managers will be left holding the bag.

Rcade with the Tesla semi tweet lol. Always a dog. Electric is a poor solution for medium & long distance trucking. Decent for local delivery work.

Solar roofs on cars and trucks is a good idea and solar technology/battery technology is improving.

Oil is the reason we've been at war in the Middle East my entire life.

tldr, a 53' trailer roof makes less than 1% of the energy needed, in completely perfect conditions. A miracle breakthrough doubling that gets you to 2%.

No problem!

Mars is easier than battery long haul trucking. We've landed things on Mars.

If you are honest with yourself, the real reason is Islam.

In WW2 the Allies invaded and conquered Iran for oil and installed a puppet government.

Anywhere you do that it goes badly in the long run regardless of religion.

Without the oil we wouldn't care about Islam.

Mars is the only planet in the solar system entirely inhabited by robots.

Venus briefly had communist robots. The planet destroyed them before they could spread the communist robot ideology.

So you want a religious war (to end all religious wars). Good luck with that Christian.

Governments go to war for resources.

The People fight for the guy in the foxhole next to them.

Spot on. For box trucks making local deliveries up to 10,000 pound load, 150 miles, there are worthwhile options. Regional or national, tractor-trailer, 50,000 pound load, 600 mile range, pulling hills and mountains, running reefer, cold weather, we're not there yet. For a logistics planner, there's also the availability of charging stations, service and parts along the operational area to consider. Also keep in mind, due to the battery weight an electric semi is about 5,000 pounds heavier than a standard diesel semi, cutting into the maximum allowable load. I'm sure we'll get there eventually, but we're not there yet.
