To a man, the Republicans who spent years saying Biden has dementia won't dare comment on Trump's dementia.

What a surprise!

I have a speculation of my own.

Maybe Melania smacked him upside the noggin.

That might explain why Mike Tyson was seen standing next to Trump on the helipad the other day.

Maybe the prez called him in as a consultant for new ideas for face tattoos.

Don't be ridiculous. What Trump really needs is some Plexaderm for those cholesterol bags under his eyes.

OK, so I talked to an MD (general practitioner) and an RN here in TX about htis. Both said the same thing, separately. Trump is on a big dose of blood thinners, and his body is not taking it well.
...
I mean, we're on an overdose of Vitamin Trump, and the body politic here in America is rejecting him too.

My cardiologist prescribed blood thinners for me because my heart is not pumping up to its full capability.

I saw the cost of that prescription, i.e., cost to me -- my co-pay -- was $100 a month.

More than $3 per daily pill.

Healthcare for profit.

A co-pay???

My goodness, what kind of health care insurance do you have?

@#15 ... My goodness, what kind of health care insurance do you have? ...

One that I was able to afford, and one that had been great. ConnectiCare.

But now, ConnectiCare seems to be leaving Connecticut for some of its Medicare Advantage plans. A possible reason... ConnectiCare was purchased by a healthcare mega-player last year. So, ConnectiCare seems to have changed its focus from helping its members to pure profit.

But then I found out that the $700+ cost of the drug would result in my having to pay $300 a month.

So, I punted, and decided to fight the odds.

So, if I suddenly disappear from this most august site, the reason will be healthcare-for-profit.

That sounds awful. Is there no way out or are you permanently locked into a for-profit system where patients are only a tool of the trade?

I've noticed the same thing happening here in Florida. It's difficult these days to find a doctor who is independent of a corporate entity who is more concerned about their shareholders then they are about patients. They seem to think their real job is to squeeze as many billing hours into 60 minutes as they can.

I, myself, don't tolerate that, but I'm a dying breed. Most patients just sit in the waiting room waiting for their health care to be shortchanged by corporate greed.

"They seem to think their real job is to squeeze as many billing hours into 60 minutes as they can."

Here in the third world USA, education, especially advanced education, comes with a steep cost. Doctors end up with huge bills they need to pay off for years. They may be less inclined to squeeze as many billable hours if their education is covered like first world nations do.

Medicare Advantage is a scam. Health insurance industry itself is starting to back away from it.

I served on health insurance committees for over a decade. One of the things I learned was the "advantage" in Medicare advantage is all to the company and none to the patient.

23.

Luigi delivered some folks a lesson.

Traditional Medicare has covered everything for my spouse and me after the deductible, through a combined 9 years of experience.

Twice I was billed for extra charges. From the same chiropractor. They blamed it on some cloud failure. Suuure. Twice. Once was enough.

Most of the spam calls at this time of year for our age cohort is for Medicare Advantage, which says something.

Funny thing is, we lived in SW VA before they were giving out cell numbers there, so we have area codes from Dolly Parton country.

My wife with Alzheimer's likes getting on the phone and trying to explain we don't live in Tennessee. Even to robocalls.

She has no idea where the hell we are at any given moment, but for Chrissakes, she knows for damn sure I wouldn't leave us stranded in godforsaken Tennessee.

That bruising is due to domestic abuse.

It is not a good idea to anger Melania.
