The letter, which has been reported to Erin In The Morning by a Kansas-based activist, states that under House Substitute for Senate Bill 244, Kansas-issued driver's licenses and identification cards must now reflect the credential holder's "sex at birth." It warns that upon the law's publication in the Kansas Register on Thursday, February 26, current credentials for affected individuals "will no longer be valid." The Legislature, the letter notes, "did not include a grace period for updating credentials," and anyone operating a vehicle without a valid credential "may be subject to additional penalties." Those whose gender marker does not match their sex assigned at birth are directed to surrender their current credential to the Division of Vehicles for reissuance.

Throughout the month of October, 2024, the Trump campaign (and associated entities) spent $300,000,00.00 on ads in all 7 swing states during televised NFL and NCAA football games. The topic of all of those ads? Then-CA Attorney General Kamala Harris' 2019 response to a question about a Trump administration dictate on gender-affirming (read: trans) care for federal inmates.

And the amount of money the Harris campaign spent countering those ads in the swing states during NFL and NCAA football games? You know, to point out the truth that she was simply responding to a question about a Trump administration dictate on gender-affirming for federal inmates? To counter the deceptive, the lying-by-omission ads run by Trump & company?

Zero dollars

The efficacy of this strategy was born out election night, 2024, when Steve Kornacki was calling individual counties (starting with Pennsylvania) and highlighting that the Harris/Walz ticket was falling short of votes as opposed to the votes in the 2020 election for the Biden/Harris ticket. His reporting was, in effect, a death by 1,000 cuts for Harris/Walz.

Trump & company knew that all it would take would be the suppression of Biden votes in 2024 by just a point or two for Trump to carry those counties, all 7 swing states and, ultimately, the election. They judged, correctly, that men - men of color and white - would be turned off enough by the "pro-trans" Harris that they voted for Trump, or didn't vote at all.

Either way, mission accomplished.

The image accumulated hundreds of thousands of engagements across social media in February, following a school shooting in British Columbia, Canada and another shooting arising from an apparent "family dispute" at an ice rink in the US state of Rhode Island. X owner Elon Musk amplified the chart to his more than 234 million followers, writing: "Wow."

The graph has circulated online since at least August 2025, AFP found.

It stems from X user Frank McCormick, who first posted it August 27, 2025 on his "@CBHeresy" account, before adding a variation on February 17, 2026.

Although the post does not explicitly say it is referencing the United States, McCormick later shared his sources, which include the US census and a database of shooting incidents compiled by Mother Jones, an American magazine.

Experts told AFP that despite frequent mass shootings in the United States, the posts framing transgender people as the most likely demographic to commit such acts of violence are mistaken.

"It is plainly obvious that most US shootings are not being done by people who are transgender," said Aaron Chalfin, associate professor of criminology at the University of Pennsylvania (archived here).

This is not some novel observation. Anti-trans activists pretending to be experts in fields they know very little about have been suggesting that trans people (typically, they mean children) are being fast tracked to hormone therapy instead of simply undergoing therapy. Besides ignoring the historical reality that gender-affirming care was long gatekept from trans people by hostile medical professionals, or the modern reality that many trans people still see therapists both before and after beginning medical transition to treat the "comorbidities" Bauwens laments, her claim fails to account for the inalienable truth that GAC directly addresses mental health on its face.

A systematic review in 2021 found that hormone therapy "was associated with increased QOL, decreased depression, and decreased anxiety," and that results "were similar across gender identity and age." Further studies in this area would be wonderful, but the evidence is already quite clear that undergoing hormone therapy is incredibly likely to treat those "comorbidities" without further intervention.

To say nothing of the fact that many trans people do not medically transition, and do not experience the same kind of mental stress or bodily discomfort that a highly dysphoric trans person might. Ours is a community with a very broad range of experiences; there is no singular way that trans people feel, think or act.

Let's talk about mass shootings in the United States.

Yeah. I'm sorry.

On Tuesday, extremist conservative outlet Newsmax reported that Dr. Jennifer Bauwens told them "transgenderism" could be linked directly to a rise in mass shootings. I would say I don't have words to express how vitriolically stupid that statement is, but I would be lying. I'm a professional writer. I always have so many words. Here are some of them:

Bauwens appeared on Newsmax's Frontline, where host Carl Higbie asked her whether or not "transgenderism is possibly a symptom [in the increase of mass shootings]." Higbie should be well acquainted with the concept of murdering strangers in cold blood, since he used to be a Navy SEAL, which probably explains why he's such a raging douchebag as well.

In response, Bauwens said, "I believe so because you have all of these other comorbidities that are not being addressed in the clinical community ... and a lot of times you have clinicians who, the first sniff of a transgender identity, they go down the path of gender-affirming care rather than addressing the real issues."

Just tell that to the trans Scots currently waiting 224 years for their first gender clinic appointment.
