The senator had his date right, but the location and game wrong.

These senators expect their staffs to feed them accurate information. Normally I would dismiss it as just a clerical error but since it was nothing but fodder too personally attack Smith and discredit him with zero meaningful facts anyway even if he got the facts correct (correct game and location).

He deserves all the scrutiny he gets.....although other senators are warning their staffs to never make that mistake. That could happen any day.

I seriously doubt any senator verifies anything their staff gives them. They simply have to trust it.

And since it takes issues like abortion, guns, gays, etc...to get people to pay attention politically.....the debt is simply ignored.
