A federal appellate court has upheld a decision allowing Hamtramck to ban Pride flags on city-owned property. The ruling, issued Aug. 21 by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, affirmed the Sept. 2025 dismissal by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan of a challenge to Hamtramck's 2023 ban on flying Pride and other group flags on city-owned flagpoles. The court held that even assuming the poles had previously been a forum for private speech, the city is permitted to change the purpose of that forum and restrict the poles to specified flags, making the display government speech. read more

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
people care more about feeding and housing their families
The value of the $ is deflating, and nothing can stop this deflation, the price of things won't go down.
Now farmers can't find anyone to help them with their fields and livestock.
You read one article, and think its happening everywhere, then you claim other people are ignorant.
Its barely happening, there has barely been any affect of ICE on the price of food or its production.
Farm workers still exist.
There are 3 dems infront of her, there's nothing to stop really.
She's unelectable and Dem leadership needs to quit trying to force the issue.
Why Are We Questioning Kamala Harris's Electability?
I think the bias inherent in the question is that women are less electable. When, in fact, the data points prove otherwise in and since 2016. I don't think America wasn't ready because the majority of Americans cast their ballot for the woman candidate in 2016, handing Hillary the popular vote, though she lost the electoral college.

AOC is the Dems favorite at this time. It may change, but I seriously doubt DemElite will push a White Male as its next candidate. (Newsom, Ossoff). If the Dems do you can bet the Democrat Elites are running the show.
There is a book called Fantasyland: How America Went Haywire.
~ DonorBot
Already read it. Thank you very much.
You never saw my reply to your previous dropping name of his book, Corky actually claims Andersen was in Fantasyland; I doubt you read it or you'd understand that blamed Boomers.
His critique of "Do your own thing / pursue your own truth." is interesting and popularized personal freedom, but the book claims it legitimized in your mind that subjective experience supersedes empirical reality.
ie you're the one in Fantasyland.
Here's some of reading you're missing out on ....
The injury alleged by the Sierra Club will be incurred entirely by reason of the change in the uses to which Mineral King will be put, and the attendant change in the aesthetics and ecology of the area. Thus, in referring to the road to be built through Sequoia National Park, the complaint alleged that the development "would destroy or otherwise adversely affect the scenery, natural and historic objects and wildlife of the park, and would impair the enjoyment of the park for future generations." We do not question that this type of harm may amount to an "injury in fact" sufficient to lay the basis for standing under 10 of the APA. Aesthetic and environmental wellbeing, like economic wellbeing, are important ingredients of the quality of life in our society, and the fact that particular environmental interests are shared by the many, rather than the few, does not make them less deserving of legal protection through the judicial process.
Sierra Club v. Morton, 405 U. S 1972
What damage did that do to the ability to develop a railroad, a building, a park, a datacenter or a house?
But I wanted to limit my reply to the thread topic, i.e., public works projects.
You can't do it intelligently without understanding the history of how you got here. I see many posts proposing/blaming policies and people, that will take us back to the same place to why it changed to what it is today.
This is known as a Chestertons fence.

@#5 ... EU knocks out it out 10 years unless they have to tediously bore through mountains. ...
Also, the EU does not seem to have a similar problem of contractors and politicians viewing public works projects as a source of personal wealth.

Thats not whats happening, In know you think it is, and I used to as well.
There's a book WhyNothingWorks. It explains it so well, you'll see the country with a whole new light.

Its not just government projects, its also why housing is sooo expensive, it permeates the whole country.
If you can't beat someone who attempted a fascist coup then you don't deserve another shot.
To even entertain the idea is pure hubris and delusion.
