Now, academics have shown that self-driving cars and autonomous drones will follow illicit instructions that have been written onto road signs.

Russian troops launched two attacks on the southern city of Zaporizhzhia on Feb. 1, injuring at least nine people, including a child, Governor Ivan Fedorov said. Around noon, Russia struck a maternity hospital, injuring at least six people. Among the injured were two women who were being examined when the Russian attack happened, Fedorov said. Later in the day, a Russian drone attacked one of the districts in Zaporizhzhia, injuring two women and a four-year-old boy, the governor said. He shared footage from the sites showing a damaged building with shattered windows and rising smoke, as well as houses damaged in a separate attack. "The strike on the maternity hospital is yet another proof of a war waged against life," the governor said.

Millions of new files relating to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been released by the US Department of Justice, the largest number of documents shared by the government since a law mandated their release last year. Three million pages, 180,000 images and 2,000 videos were posted publicly on Friday. The release came six weeks after the department missed a legal deadline signed into law by President Donald Trump that mandated all Epstein-related documents be shared with the public. "Today's release marks the end of a very comprehensive document identification and review process to ensure transparency to the American people and compliance," Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said. Just after takeoff at 10:06 a.m., the report says a rear passenger commented that the left engine was producing more power than the right and indicated there may have been a faulty gauge. The pilot continued, however. About 10:11, airplane control was transferred to the right-seat passenger, at an altitude of about 4,500 feet msl. At 10:14, the rear passenger made a query to the pilot regarding power to the "alternator." The pilot made a comment indicating that was the "problem;" however, did not specify what the "problem" was or what actions were taken to correct it. Audio indicated the right-seat passenger visually acquired the runway and provided directions to the pilot as to where the runway was. About 10:15, the pilot made comments which indicated he had acquired the runway. A strange thing has happened to U.S. fertility patterns in recent decades. In the 1970s, there was little to no partisan difference in birthrates. This was an era when the total fertility rate was still hovering around the magic replacement level of 2.1"that is, the average woman could be expected to have 2.1 children across her lifetime, keeping the size of the population stable. The U.S. total fertility rate plummeted to a new low of 1.63 in 2024. A partisan fertility gap has emerged and seems to be growing. Conservatives have more children than liberals. They also are more likely to marry and marry younger. While Democrats are increasingly the party of the childless, Republicans are increasingly the party of parents.
