Tim Sheehy: No Medical Records Exist for My Gunshot Wound

Tim Sheehy, the Montana Republican nominee for Senate, said in an interview with former Fox News host Megyn Kelly that there are no medical records that would prove he did not accidentally shoot himself in the arm in Glacier National Park in 2015.

More

Sheehy is facing a fresh round of scrutiny about a bullet wound in his arm, which he has told voters he sustained while serving as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan in 2012. But in 2015, he told a park ranger he accidentally inflicted the wound upon himself when he dropped his weapon in a parking lot in Glacier National Park and it fired into his arm.

What a dirtbag.

told voters he sustained while serving as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan in 2012. But in 2015, he told a park ranger he accidentally inflicted the wound upon himself

So either he lied to a government official (Park Ranger) or he has a Purple Heart he didn't earn. He will definitely be elected Senator in Montana either way.

BTW we have a Republican in Florida, Cory Mills. He appears to be quite the liar as well.

He ways he spent 7 years in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan.
He served July 1999 - August 2003.
His DD214 says 0 days in foreign service, no combat roles
But he calls himself an "Army sniper" even though he was a medic.

So what's up with these Republicans and Military service? What they actually did just wasn't good enough?
Just like DeSantis deliberately conflating the work he did with being a SEAL. He never was.

Their hypocrisy is boundless.

#4 | Posted by YAV at 2024-11-03 07:07 PM

with being a SEAL. He never was.

After completing his SEAL training at Harvard Law, he hit the trenches as a JAG advisor to the SEAL HQ in Iraq.

Even Kelly wasn't buying his bs.

I think his story was he didn't report it because it was a friendly fire thing and he didn't want to get anyone in trouble. Doesn't explain the Purple Heart though.

#10 | Posted by REDIAL at 2024-11-03 11:22 PM

friendly fire in a war zone gets you a purple heart.

shooting yourself doesn't.

#11 | Posted by Tor at 2024-11-03 11:38 PM

His Wiki page says he also claimed to have parachuted into Glacier National Park during SEAL training, but the National Park Service and US military say they don't train in the park.

Sounds like stolen valor to me. Political careers have been ended for less. Hopefully this will end his.

Aren't servicemen in a war zone required to report any injury that can leave so much as a scar?

Aren't servicemen in a war zone required to report any injury that can leave so much as a scar?

It must have been reported or no Purple Heart. The odd thing was telling the park ranger he did it by accident in the park. Why would he say that?

The Purple Heart was from an injury from a IDE and is unrelated. He also received some other medal that I'm not going to look up.

There's no doubt he a decorated veteran.

Why would he say that?

The shooting had just happened and the wound was still fresh, so he had to tell the truth. Park Rangers are like cops.

He dropped his gun on the ground while he was exiting his car, and it discharged into his arm. With his wife and kid in the car.

He started lying about it this year in ads, which the Ranger, who lives in MT, saw and publicly contradicted.

Sheehy has also claimed he did not report receiving the wound in Afghanistan because it was friendly fire and he didn't want to get the guy who shot him in trouble. So, he threw his comrades under the bus to cover the lie.

What's worse? The lie, or the incompetence he demonstratedby shooting himself in front of his family.

Tim Sheehy violates Naval Honor Code
dailyinterlake.com

... In 2004, Minnesota's Tim Sheehy signed the Naval Academy's midshipmen's Oath of Office and Honor Code which say he wouldn't "lie, steal or cheat," and would do his "duty and to live honorably."

Nineteen years later, that same Tim Sheehy announced running for Montana's U.S. Senate seat. Based upon the number of lies he's told the press and people of Montana, Sheehy not only had abandoned Minnesota in pursuit of political power, he also abandoned his Midshipman's Oath and Honor Codes.

As an Eisenhower Republican and a proud veteran, I strive to live by a similar oath and honor code. But Sheehy's long list of prevarications make him unworthy of my vote and the office he seeks.

Sheehy stated he grew up "rural" in Minnesota. Actually, he grew up in a suburb of St. Paul, in a multimillion-dollar lakeside house.

Sheehy has made his military service central to his campaign. But, when Sheehy left active duty in 2014,records show he was discharged with an "involuntary separation" after failing to earn promotion to the next rank.

He claimed on a podcast that he'd been a Navy SEAL from 2004 to 2014.Impossible since he didn't graduate from the Naval Academy until 2008.

Sheehy also claimed he'd parachuted into Glacier Park during Seal training -- which the Park Service says not only didn't happen to him, it is not allowed at all.

Sheehy talks about a badge of honor, a bullet he claimed was lodged in his arm in Afghanistan. He's told so many different stories about this that it makes your head spin.

Sheehy has said he "lied" to a Glacier National Park ranger about accidentally shooting himself in his arm in the park in October 2015 " claimed he'd gotten shot in Afghanistan instead. The park ranger last week said Sheehy wasn't shot in Afghanistan -- that Sheehy signed a statement and paid a fine for shooting himself in Glacier Park -- all verified by park records.

In another questionable story, Sheehy said he used his "life savings" to start Bridger Aerospace, but records show he received considerable assistance from his father and brother, a Wall Street financier. ...

Park rangers, park police, and even game wardens and other officials not only have the authority to arrest you themselves, but they can also refer your matter to local law enforcement or federal law enforcement.

If there was a medic or health care technician involved in treating him then of course, they were supposed to fill out a report so that if he needs to later on file a claim with the Veterans Administration for a percentage of his base pay they can give it to him with not too many questions asked. It makes no sense for this guy to not wish to do that. None. He did not want to have a lifetime disability claim with the VA just because he did not wish to tax the poor tax payers? Whatever, the guy is a liar. Now, as an ex SF soldier in the army we were taught to lie about everything we say if we are ever captured so that they will not know what the truth is so there's that. Maybe he thinks we are all the enemy that he has to lie to all the time so that we will not know what is the truth. See TRump, orange traitor 101.

" Park Rangers are like cops. ...

How so?

#22 | POSTED BY LAMPLIGHTER "

Well, I have worked for about four years in both Yellowstone NP and Yosemite NP and have talked with a lot of rangers. One old retired Ranger in Yellowstone told me he quit, "because they were turning us into the police." He told me this as he felt that as a representative of the National Park Service he believed that "having mass crowd control drills with hundreds of Rangers screaming and stomping forwards scaring the people they were supposed to help safely navigate the giant parks did not fit into his idea of what a Ranger is supposed to represent." Also, he went on to say that, "harassing people for doing anything not within the rule book with no real ability to make a decision on the spot ruined their sense of autonomy and made them look and feel like fascists." Forcing Rangers to cite people with tacky-tacky citations was a way to make revenue for the goverment and did not fit into the character of what a Ranger was supposed to historically be in relation to the visitors and so this Ranger of some 30 years had retired before he really had planned on doing so. Rangers did not even carry pistols on their belts until 'after' the giant beatdown that they, the California Highway Patrol and the local country Sheriff put on a mass of young people and bikers in the Yosemite Valley in the early 70's when the place was turning into some sort of drug party zone. In my time in Yosemite, I met a Latino dish washer that picked me up hitchhiking after my truck broke down along the Merced River and he told me that the park Rangers constantly pull him over and search his car while on his way to his job at a big hotel inside Yosemite NP. I could go on and on but believe me that while these Rangers have changed for the better, with addition of female Rangers and minority folks into the job but at the same time the job has also evolved into one where they no longer play the helpful smiling Ranger and instead have become intimidating ----- that bully people. Not that some people do not deserve to be bullied or that all the Rangers are bad bullies but we wish they would save that stuff for the tourons and not everyone else they come into contact with. In Yellowstone, the local Park Service workers refer to the Rangers as the "enemy" as they feel they treat them worse than the tourist and I can attest to this as my wife and I got a double ticket for each of us for parking in a dirt spot that on the other side of the park is legal yet they claimed it was not on legal on "their" side of the park. They even had one young Ranger standing back with his knees bent and his hand on his gun as if my 5'1" wife was going to draw down on them at any moment. They are law enforcement and no longer the humors story tellers of old days.
