Biden's Farewell

"Four years ago, we stood in a winter of peril and a winter of possibilities. We were in the grip of the worst pandemic in a century, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, and the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War. But we came together as Americans, and we braved through it. We emerged stronger, more prosperous, and more secure. Today, we have the strongest economy in the world and have created a record 16.6 million new jobs. Wages are up. Inflation continues to come down. The racial wealth gap is the lowest it's been in 20 years. We're rebuilding our entire nation"urban, suburban, rural, and Tribal communities."

The list of achievements is quite long as you'll see when you visit the White House link. For the most part, POTUS Biden had quite a competent Cabinet.

What the fkkk is Joe blathering about?

That dementia has hit him hard.

Go away Joe.

You're the reason we're stuck with Trump.

Americans didn't come together under Biden.

Joe abdicated his responsibility to protect the nation from Trump and MAGAts.

He drew hearts and took naps and failed to see the threat domestic terrorists pose on our national

Too little too late.

But he doesn't care. The rest of his life will be wonderful.

Like that he quoted Ike in his Farewell Speech just now; warning about the MIC which is now just the "Industrial Complex" ie Corporations and Billionaires.

They are openly turning the People's Gov into the Oligarchs Gov.

Thanks, Trumpism!

President Joe Biden, I believe in democracy and the responsibility it requires from the citizens of this country that they tae voting seriously and educate themselves about the important issuof our time and then vote accordingly. If Joe Biden failed us it was not in his responsibilities as President; as the list he provides with his letter his was a very suobviously much more successful than Donald much more successful than Donald Trump's Presidency! It's not Joe Biden's fault voyrts chose to vote for a failed businessman, cinvicted felon; that is the voter's own fault; much like when Reagan won it was because he was much better on TV brcause that was his real profession actor, showman, spokesman. He was a Movie and TV star and the voters elected him and got exactly what they elected. Now, the voters have done the same thing again; elected another TV star and as in his last term the voters who elected him will get exactly the same thing; another pretty man wearing lots of makeup with perfectly styled hair whose vanity is 90% of his identity. Every thing after Jan. 29 is on the voters who voted for him; we'll see how proud they are in 4 years. Remember. these are the same idiots who voted for Reagan and George W Bush and I expect we'll see the same level of incompetence but Joe Biden didn't elect this clown!

"There is a "dangerous concentration of power" developing in the United States, President Joe Biden warned Wednesday in his farewell address to the nation.

"An oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power, and influence that really threatens our entire democracy," he said in an address from the Oval Office.

Biden, who leaves office in less than a week, used the address to reflect on his term in office as the country looks ahead to the incoming Trump administration.

"People should be able to make as much as they can, but play by the same rules, pay their fair share of taxes," he said."

Biden said that violent crime was the lowest in 50 years. That is hogwash like most of his conniving lies since he was "elected" as a unifier. Angry senile old men without ethics do not make good Presidents. Neither do VP's who were picked by identity politics. It makes zero sense. If not for the identity appointed VP Biden would have been gone 3 years ago, but Dems were afraid to 25th him because it would make her POTUS. Moral: Never allow Democrats to run our country again.

Joe Biden spent four years wasting time, when instead, from day one, he should have taken 1/6 and the lies spread by republican politicians and media very - very - seriously.

His lackadaisical approach to traitors has cost this nation dearly.

The MAGA crowd cheered when Facebook stopped fact checking because they choose to believe what they are told by Trump even if it is a lie. During the next several years Trumps immigration and trade policies will give everyone the chance to see how his policies effect them personally. I wonder how many MAGAs lold after st their homes in LA are now hopimg the federal government will rescue them and how hard it will be to finf the labor necessary to rebuild after we deport millions of immigrants who work in construction trades. And don't kid yourself there are MAGAs in LA just like anywhere else in America. Though they are more cobcentrated in states that recieve nore aud from the federal goverbnebt than they pay into the federal government which absolutely cannot be said about California.

Fact check: Biden says violent crime 'is near a record 50-year low'

We looked at the FBI data analyzed by Asher for both time spans, and using either one, Biden is right that the 2022 data is "near" a 50-year low."

#16 | Posted by Dbt2 at 2025-01-16 09:54 AM

Like I've said before I guess I'm fortunate because I live in a boring central PA where crime is fairly low. But the more urban areas have been usurped and run by Democrats and crimes of violence etc. are increasing. Democrat politics and policies have destroyed our cities.

#17 | Posted by Robson at 2025-01-16 10:14 AM

The long national nightmare of elder abuse is over. Biden had no business being POTUS. He was propped up by the DNC because they didn't respect their constiuants enough to make an educated decision. Instead they elminated the competition to run a well-known brand name, knowing he wasn't up to the job. Then they watched him further deterioate and lied about it. Donald Trump didn't even have to campaign. Now he's waltzing back into the Oval because the DNC tied their own hands by not having an open convention and running a DEI VP that couldn't articualte how she would be different. FUBAR all around.

We have the proof with pictures all over the internets.

Climate change deniers have literally destroyed our cities. In LA they do not have any homes to go back to anymore. Schools and shops all burnt up. Lives upended and destroyed. So many have to start over now.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Blame the Dems. When things go well give maga and Trumpy all the credit (see Gaza).

Since the fires did happen it's obvious that there was also a failure in leadership. But it's also obvious that this was an extreme weather event that would have gone badly in any city in America under the same climatic conditions.

Maybe some could handle it a little better but it still would have been a disaster.

It's not the first time it's already happened before and if we don't make the necessary changes it WILL occur again and again until enough people have died.

Yes, and how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
And how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

"Texas has twice the forestry of California and far fewer fires at any time"

#20 | POSTED BY SHRIMPTACODAN

The issue is the magnitude and destructiveness of the fires.

I'm a person who was actively considering evacuation from a massive fire in a Texas urban area. If it encroached any farther towards my home me, my wife, and my pets would have left for wetter ground.

The recent fires in Texas have been apocalyptic, have destroyed hundreds of square miles and whole communities.

Where your deliberate stupidity, aka hackery, comes in is not applying the same venom to a MAGA State and government as you do to California. Red states burn. I guess that you people ARE waiting for Dallas to be incinerated before you shut your yaps.

But stupidity and hackery are of the essence to your movement. You're going to need some of the pain the rest of us experience in order to change.

But, then again, I think you like being stupid and a hack.

The state of California is only responsible for 2% of the land area of the state. 48% is privately owned while the remainder, 50%, is federal land.

As for the letting the reservoirs run dry, most of the state's major reservoirs are at or above their normal levels for this time of the year, as shown in the diagram below, which is updated daily:

Five things to know about Biden's farewell address that also served as a warning to the country
apnews.com

... Biden sent an ominous message about future dangers

The outgoing president used the opportunity to deliver a series of warnings to the American people, much like Dwight Eisenhower did in 1961 when he expressed concerns about the "military industrial complex" in his farewell address.

Biden said "an oligarchy is taking shape in America" as power and money become more concentrated in the hands of the few.

He criticized the "tech industrial complex" and social media, where "the truth is smothered by lies told for power and for profit."

He urged the country to continue confronting climate change, saying, "We must not be bullied into sacrificing the future."

It was a stark assessment for a politician who prides himself on optimism. Still, as if to prove his point about misinformation, Trump's incoming communications director and press secretary started falsely claiming on social media that Biden's speech was prerecorded. ...
