To Pay for Trump Tax Cuts, House GOP Floats Plan to Slash Benefits for the Poor and Working Class

One of the hallmarks of Donald Trump's presidential campaign was a promise of sweeping tax cuts, for the rich, for working people and for companies alike. Now congressional Republicans have the job of figuring out which of those cuts to propose into law. In order to pay for the cuts, they have started to eye some targets to raise money. Among them: cutting benefits for single mothers and poor people who rely on government health care.

First, the tax cuts raised tax revenues, again, the tax cuts raised tax revenues. That is a good thing for everyone. Second, the US government spending has become so bloated and wasteful that it needs to have the brakes put on it. It doesn't need to include cutting medicaid and medicare and social security and it won't. Do Democrats actually think that we can't cut wasteful spending? I hope not.

What malarkey. Any facts to back up that big fat lie? Here are some little historical facts for you:

"In 1980, Bush Sr. famously described these economic policies as "voodoo economics," arguing that supply-side reforms would not be enough to rejuvenate the economy and would greatly increase the national debt."

"However, the expectation that decreased taxes on the wealthy and businesses would result in increased spending on goods, services, and salaries failed to materialize. Moreover, President Reagan's relaxed regulation contributed to the savings and loan crisis."
"By the early 1990s, the U.S. economy had fallen back into recession.

President Reagan's policies contributed to a near doubling of the national debt, in part due to his commitment to cut taxes while increasing military spending."

This is where the broke ass magats find out just how bad they'll get screwed for apartheid elmo to get more tax cuts.

President Reagan's policies contributed to a near doubling of the national debt, in part due to his commitment to cut taxes while increasing military spending."

Felon47's tax scam led to the largest increase in the national debt under any presidential term.....so far.

There was a reason why he demanded the debt ceiling be eliminated UNTIL 2029.

First, the tax cuts raised tax revenues

No. They didn't.

Time and again, studies have been done that if taxes were not cut, tax revenues would have risen faster.

Trumpers didn't get the Memo that Trickle Down economics never ever worked... even it's earliest proponents have admitted that for years now.

I'm waiting for someone to propose increasing taxes on the bottom 75% of income earners.

The bottom 50% might be the most under-taxed demographic in the western world.

Capitalists don't know how to gt rich without slave labor.

The 0.00001% first amassed and then safeguarded their pelf thru slave or cheap labor and monumental tax shelters for over two centuries. Trumpf, Felon Musk, and the GOP are taking America back to pre-FDR days before federal income taxes or social safety nets. I guess all red hat wearing MAGAts are wealthy and have superb health insurance. Good for them.

US government spending has become so bloated and wasteful

The biggest waste of government spending in the nation's history took place when Putin's bitch was airlifted to Walter Reed.

This was obvious before the election so apparently the American public felt that American billionaires were too poor and that American poor and working classes were too well off.

It's sort of a trick headline.

When has the GOP ever tried to pay for tax cuts?
