President Donald Trump suggested that six Democratic lawmakers who put out a video urging military members to "refuse illegal orders" were guilty of "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!' in a stunning Thursday morning Truth Social post.

I was thinking just this morning what would happen if some Fleet Commander off of Venezuela who had bothered to check and find out that Trump is LYING about drugs coming from that country (cocaine comes from Columbia and fentanyl from Mexico) AND about the Complete Myth he spreads of Venezuela 'emptying their prisons' here)... if that Commander would refuse an order to hit civilian targets in
Caracas, Vlad-style?

Under the Unified Code of Military Justice, the UCMJ, a member of the military can be court-martialed for obeying an unlawful order irrespective of their rank or that of the person giving them the order.

Of course, Trump having never served in the military, may not be aware of this, but I would hope that someone over at the Pentagon would sit him down and go over the details of what it says in the UCMJ.

When I was in the Army Reserve, it was required reading, or at least enough of it to keep you out of trouble.

Pres Trump's egregious reaction to that ad stating that ~the military personnel should not follow illegal orders~ is an implicit admission that he, Pres Trump, issues illegal orders and that he expects the military to follow those orders.

What next, might Pres Trump now go after the great instructors at West Point who teach the law that the military should not follow illegal orders?

Will that be Pres Trump's next step after he (or his private militia) executes the Congresspeople who stated that fact?

That presumes Pres Trump may know whether or not he is giving illegal orders, or that he does and does not want to admit it.

My guess at this point leans towards the latter, but the former is still a possibility.

It was a warning and guidance to our troops and intelligence agency members that, given Trump's past rhetoric and actions, court findings, etc. that we all need to be alert, aware of illegal requests, understand the law, and to not violate the Constitution, the law, or the UCMJ. Appropriate timing with the release of Nuremberg, isn't it?

MacCallum can't win on that so she reframed it in any black/white example of a violation, which is not what the PSA was about. At all.
