Was it the "gun" or the Transgender?

The crazed gunman who killed two people and critically injured three others at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island on Monday afternoon has been identified as a transgender dad who railed against anti-trans hate in family legal disputes and deranged social media rants. Robert Dorgan, 56 " who shot four family members and a family friend before he turned the gun on himself following the deadly rampage at the Pawtucket ice rink " used the female alias Roberta Esposito, Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said during a press conference Monday night. "We have identified the person, the suspect, by a birth name, the birth name was Robert Dorgan," Goncalves said. "We have also learned that the person does go by the name of Roberta, also uses a last name of Esposito."

From there killing your target becomes less assured.

You need enough momentum. The target to be in the street. Once you hit them you can't be sure you've killed them. Unless they're plowing into a crowd you're not going to hit many people. It's hard to fit a truck into a school. Someone yelling, "watch out!" is enough to mess up the hit. Trucks are easy to dodge.

Man with a rifle vs man with a truck, my money is on the man with the rifle.

Explosives are fine when you want massive casualties and don't care who is hurt. But it takes a lot more preparation than walking into a church with an assault rifle.

No, it's a pragmatic look at the topic without the argument from emotion or starry eyed 'all we need is love' positions.

Currently, there isn't enough political appetite to take this topic on. In fact, there's too much flat out opposition.

But even IF there was, there is then the practical matter of actually enforcing said policies, which would get violent fast. Are you going to go door to door to remove the millions of weapons from people who aren't willing to give them up?
