Curious that the House Republicans want this testimony to be public, but refuse to allow Mr Hunter Biden to testify publicly.

Yeah, anything regarding the future and fmr Pres trump is speculation. Mainly because I remain to be convinced that he thinks more than an hour or two into the future. On the other hand, maybe he is some sort of evil genius who leads us to believe that.
Who knows.
But to your point, now that I read what SC Hur has said....
He has kissed the ring.
Hmmmmm ...

I view Trump as quite smart WRT his own ambition and how to use demagoguery to manipulate people. He has an instinctive genius about it. He's studied the speeches of Hitler. He's keyed in. Anyone thinking Trump is stupid because of his sheer idiocy in his rants, posts, spewing hate is missing it.

He's an idiot-- but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to manipulate vast swathes of Americans.

74% of Republicans think that Trump as a dictator would be good for America, What do you think?

"What do you think?"
I think that proves my point. It also proves how much propaganda has ruined the brains of the right and the left in America. Of course, the left could stop hastening towards Armageddon and nominate Jon Stewart and save the world, but that isn't going to happen now, is it?

If I agree with that comment (I don't, btw), my first question would be...
If propaganda has ruined the brains of the right and left in America, which of the two now have worse goals as a result of those ruined brains?
I mean, was the CBS series BrainDead that far off?
BrainDead en.wikipedia.org
... BrainDead is an American political satire science fiction[1][2][3] comedy-drama television series created by Robert and Michelle King.[4] The series stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Laurel Healy, a documentary film-maker who takes a job working for her brother Luke (Danny Pino), a U.S. Senator, when the funding for her latest film falls through. Assigned as his new constituency caseworker, she discovers that Washington, D.C. has been invaded by extraterrestrial insects which are eating the brains and taking control of people, including members of Congress and their staffers. Much of the internal comedy of the series was that, in the altered reality of Washington, D.C. politics, only a few people noticed. ...

Not sure how this works out for the GOP - especially in public.
In the report, it clearly points out the differences between the Biden case and the Trump case. That's a minus for Trump. The Dems aren't going to let that slide by and will make Hur go on record repeatedly.
Sure they'll get some digs at Biden's memory and such but cats already out of the bag there - so I don't see much gain.

I kinda feel these people wouldn't care if Trump was President until he died.
They live in their bubble and just want closed borders, access to their guns, and a leader who talks smack.

It's relevant because the claim is that possessing classified docs is a national security risks, especially when the person having those documents is deeply in debt. If it was a risk when Biden had them, it is even more a risk that a desperate Trump has them now.

As an expert in conducting a classified docs investigation, his opinion on Trump having them is relevant, especially since he does refer to Trump in his report.

Right. So why did you bring him up?
You don't think trumpy is behind it all? Of course he is. Revenge and retribution baby! I'll bet he called them and told them to drag Hur in and get him to talk trash about Biden.
I bet it was his idea to drag this out and squeeze every drop of insulting and demeaning statements as they can get out if Hur. They really like his style!
Sounds very much like a Trumpian thing to do. After declaring that Biden won't be charged they want to try and continue to try and drag this out and trash the President as long as they can. Because Hur said some pretty mean things about Biden. They like that kind of talk! They cannot prosecute Biden because he is an innocent old man but they sure can harass him.
The race is too close. Gotta bring those Biden poll numbers down! Same strategy they had with Hillary. Use millions of dollars of taxpayers money to trash their opponents. And they whine about the democrats weaponizing the government all while they are busy little bees weaponizing the government against their opponents.

The laptop became the subject after it was absolutely clear - to everyone but trumpers - that the email didn't exist.

Won't this be about Trump, though?
The GOP is wants to know why Biden isn't being indicted but Trump is, meaning it's not a fair system.
Hur will be forced to say why that is. Again, this will be huge negative from Trump. And bad strategy for the GOP.

And I think that's a huge difference betweent the two parties. The Dems do something because they believe in it, and can actually back it up. See Trump impeachments as an example. Although they failed to convict (so political) - now law enforcement has rightfully stepped in.
The GOP tries to proimse tik for tat but it never works - because they don't have anything. See their latest impeachments. They're embarassing. See how they generally fumble basic governing.
