I'm not black but that guy seems to pander to white racists just a little too much but he won't be thinking about that on his next cruise on the billionaire's mega-yacht. Does he actually have a conscience?

Clarence Thomas Attacks Brown v. Board Ruling

Clarence Thomas doing his level best to show us that DEI hires may not be a great idea.

Clarence Thomas owes pretty much all he has/is - lifetime seat on the anything-goes SCOTUS, "donations" and "gifts" (bribes) from plutocratic "friends" (investors), and people having to pay more than half a three-cent dime's worth of their time to be subjected to his idiotic, self-serving yipping and yapping - to ... wait for it ... wait for it ...Brown and affirmative action. The irony is lost on this charlatan of a public official as his ossification brings him richly deserved contempt.

Clarence's existence is one of the best arguments for term limits for all federal judges ever made.

And now we have Justice Clarence Thomas, on the 70th anniversary of the landmark case, 'Brown v Board of Education', claiming that it was judicial overreach by the Court, making this claim in his concurrence of this week's Court ruling which allows South Carolina to use a Congressional map which all of the lower courts had agreed was formulated to explicitly dilute the minority vote in the state. Thomas claimed that the Court's "extravagant uses of judicial power" to end racial segregation in the 1950s and 60s was misguided despite the 9-0 ruling in Brown, which declared that separate but equal was unconstitutional. You can't help but wonder if somewhere along the line, Thomas himself didn't benefit from this ruling. After all, he's freely admitted that he would not have gotten into Yale Law School if it had not been for the university's affirmative action program, another concept which he's fought against ever since he made it to the high Court.

I've heard that there's activity in some communities with respect to the Brown decisions where they hope that a case could be made to bring it before the Court once again, while the conservative bias remains intact. And that's not the only long held precedent that well-funded groups out there are focusing on, including Griswold, Lawrence and perhaps even Loving, which would really be ironic, particularly with respect to Thomas.

With that in mind, you have to ask yourself, why did Thomas even bring up the Brown decision in this latest case? Was he sending some sort of message or was he laying the groundwork with a citation that could be referenced in some future case which was challenging Brown?

Another reason why re-electing Biden is absolutely critical. America may already be lost due to this court. Letting ------- appoint replacements for Alito and Thomas will assure a conservative supermajority for decades

We are at the beginning of a regressive revolution driven by this court

I think we are well beyond the beginning of this regressive revolution, Truth, and not by just this -------- everywhere in government and social media. If trump walks, he's in and we are all screwed-back to the 1800s we go. And the biggest proponent for putting him back into office? Biden's silence. He apparently has no fight left in him, if he ever had it in the first place. We need that guy who gave the SOTU, every day, between now and November, if it already isn't too late. Maybe Uncle Clarence will wake up the black voters and scare them back to the Dems...?

He's out there yoda. It's just impossible to get attention when the press wants a horse race and ------- sucks the oxygen in the room

If ------- doesn't lose supports when he is on trial for felonies I don't know what will break through

I really have no idea how things will end. ------- could win walking away or Biden could win in a historic crushing (due to dobbs)

Clearance believes that affirmative action made his white masters think he only achieved his station life due to the color of his skin. The joke is that Clearance WAS an affirmative action hire. Without Thurgood Marshall's vacant seat, Clearance would NOT be on SCOTUS. Bush1 only chose an unqualified crank like Clearance because he was black. If it were any other seat, Bush would have appointed a mediocre white guy. The joke is that without Brown v Board, a self-hating black guy like Uncle Thomas would never have made it to a primarily white college or law school and would probably be shining shoes, tap dancing for nickels or baking biscuits today.

I love when Democrats show their racism they claim to not have (It shows how full of ---- you truly are). You guys have been keeping the black man down since the 1850's.

"I love when Democrats show their racism they claim to not have (It shows how full of ---- you truly are). You guys have been keeping the black man down since the 1850's."

Democrats and Republicans did do that but then in the 1960's the Democrats changed for the better and those Democrats that could or would not change became Republivans; Nixon's Southern Strategy was based on white resentment sbout Civil Rights; the GQP is still riding that resentment pony though their resentment now includes more minorities and women. Same sense of loss of deserved entitlement but spread over more groups who previously could be persecuted, deprivedof rights, paid less money or prevented from voting which is still going on right this very minute and they got the corrupt Supreme Court on their side enabling them to cheat their way to victories even after aall a

//////////'The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed South Carolina to use a congressional map that a lower court had said weakened Black voting rights, bolstering the political fortunes of Republicans as they seek to maintain control of the House of Representatives and making it harder to challenge districts on grounds of racial gerrymandering nationwide.and they have the corript Supreme Court helping them cheat their way to victory.

He's just doing his best to troll and deflect from the topic of the thread.

I'll tell you one thing.

School integration is one of the reasons conservatives hate public education.

It forced their precious white children to go to school with people of color.

They've never forgiven the federal government for it.

"School integration is one of the reasons conservatives hate public education."

Yes. Racism has been the driving force in Republican politics for the past 75 years.

Racism, misogyny, white nativism. The agenda is built to retain and cement Privilege.

Which is why they must deny that structural racism and Critical Theory is even a thing that exists.

Luckily for Republicans, Democrats seem completely incapable of preventing them from controlling the narrative.

CRT became so demonized, you would think it was a program teaching elementary schoolers to hate white people.

Republicans ran with lying about it and misrepresenting it.

Democrats just kept fumbling. They continue to do so.
