Bernie Sanders: What the media should be doing, in my view, is focusing on the contrast between Joe Biden, what his record is and what his vision is for the future, not just what happened in a debate. And if you want to talk about cognitive capabilities and you want to talk about things that people say, take a hard look at Donald Trump as well.

"Maybe if we start focusing on [Biden's] record, start focusing on what he is trying to do " not only is he going to win, I think he has a chance to win in a big way. Because working class people in this country are hurting."

Concur. The DNC weakness seems to have been messaging and not promoting their platform of helping working and vulnerable Americans.

"What the media should be doing, in my view, is focussing on the contrast between Joe Biden, what his record is and what his vision is for the future, not just what happened in a debate"

You can't separate the two, because Joe can't articulate his vision for the future.

If the problem is the messaging, it relies entirely within Joe. It's not the party. It's Joe.

"Drumpf is stupider than Biden" is not a good argument.

Sorry, Bernie. You're just wrong this time. Biden was a stupid choice in 2020, he's a worse choice now. 2020 was FAR too close, Biden was a mistake.

Duh.

He knows he's another one who's still in office far past his best by date.

The last thing these long timers want is the people seriously demanding fresh blood.

Replacing Biden is a big -- to the 14 million that voted for him in the primary and democracy in general.

Why exactly would you care about that? They're Biden voters

We're listening to Bernie now?

More like, "NOW we're listening to Bernie?"

Democrats robbed this nation in 2016 and then tripped on their hubris.

Bernie would have won.

It was "Her Turn".

She was entitled to It.

I love both Joe and Bernie, but they are both old
and it shows. They are also both products of their
generation, and that also shows.

A decade back, Joe would have 'wiped the floor' with
Trump in a debate. But no longer. He hadn't lost
a step, but a half dozen steps for sharpness in a debate.

And Bernie sometimes (unknowingly I believe) falls back
into his very white upbringing and defaults to the outdated
idea of 'white male leadership'. He is usually very open
to other candidates of races and genders, but I think sometimes
he unwittingly falls back to what he was raised with. It's a
generational thing.

It is time to FINALLY pry the reins of "leadership" out of the Boomers
hands and pass it on to younger(?) generations (I'm GenX and almost 60!).

Indeed it is far past time! Let younger and more culturally and racially
diverse generations take the reigns, and let them stand in stark contrast
to the largely 'whites only' party of the GOP.
