Nia-Malika Henderson: Republicans are resorting to racist and sexist tactics that won't stick like they used to with voters.

FTA:

The Republican approach to Vice President Kamala Harris is terrible, no good, absolutely awful and all over the place. Compared to Harris' upbeat, future-oriented campaign backed by the banging chorus of America's greatest pop star, Donald Trump looks like a late-stage Elvis stuck in a doom loop.

While Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has urged his caucus to focus on policy and not personality, Trump and his allies will obviously ignore this good political advice over the next 100 days. This will damage his campaign--and the country--but it's the only way Trump and his followers know how to run. Racism and sexism are very powerful forces in American politics and have often worked to great effect. Trump and his allies obviously know this, so they have trotted out their greatest hits of tropes that amplify the two, hoping to further hype up the MAGA base.

...hoping to further hype up the MAGA base.

To what end, one wonders? They be as hyped as they can get already.

@#1 ... The Republican approach to Vice President Kamala Harris is terrible, no good, absolutely awful and all over the place. ...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. ...

Pres Biden waited until after the Republican convention to announce his stepping down to push the Republicans into a corner with their nominees.

Before the RNC, Pres Biden was very forceful in multiple comments and interviews about not stepping down.

However, once the RNC wrapped up, guess what... Pres Biden passed the torch.

Now, look at the Trump cult. Seemingly clueless about how to handle this new scenario. They didn't plan for this possible occurrence? Oh wait, the Trump cult does not seem to plan. Fmr Pres Trump is transactional.

And now the Trump cult is stuck with a VP candidate that looks little more than a Trump clone.

A VP candidate that seems to bring nothing more to the table, besides a range of old texts and comments that seem to be doing little to help his candidacy.

Lewzer will probably dump him as soon as he finds out who the Dem VP pick is.

@#5 ... Lewzer will probably dump him as soon as he finds out who the Dem VP pick is. ...

I am not aware of fmr Pres Trump admitting that he has ever made a mistake.

So, if the scenario you proffer comes to bear, my first question would be ... who is the poor person who fmr Pres Trump will blame for the choosing of Sen Vance as the GOP VP candidate at the convention?

Crooked Joe Biden. Lewzer will say that because Biden dropped out he should get a mulligan on his VP choice. Haley is probably doubling down on the teeth whiteners.

Effectively admitting that Pres Biden bested him?

Effectively admitting that Pres Biden bested him?

If nothing else he made him the oldest POTUS candidate in history.

Dotard will dump Vance like a foreign-born wife who overstayed her visa in favor of another mediocre white guy.

For "America First" kind of guys, Dotard had two foreign wives (Ivana and Melanoma), and Mitch McConnell married a Taiwanese woman (Elaine Chao). Usha Vance was born in the US (and was registered as a Democrat until 2014) but because of her dark skin and accent she is treated by her husband's supporters in the RW as an "auslander" anyway.

I wonder who dumps J Dunce Vance first, Usha or the Dotard?

Given Trump's observable mental and physical state - glutton, obese, tottering, freezing in place, endless word garbling, utterly delusional - a vote for Trump is a vote to put JayDee in the Oval Office some time between early 2025 and early 2029.

@#2

Maybe that's how J Dunce Vance convinced Usha to hold her nose for a few years. Like you, they conducted an actuarial analysis and figured the Dotard will croak in office and *POOF!* Usha becomes First Lady.

Nothing about that would look desperate... now would it? Of course not.

Are you implying that Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock, the celebrity stars of their convention are old and tired too?

I bet he fakes an illness and quits... leaving the clown brigade and his eunuchs to pick up the pieces.

What is super funny is a PAC that was previously backing her turned and is using the money for the Kamala campaign and she doesn't like them using her name.

Not worried at all about Trump or his eventual Veep.
I AM worried about the GOP's placement of multiple election
deniers as vote certifiers in multiple swing states.

THAT is of great concern to me.

In a fair election, Harris wins. So what does Lord Marmalade want?
Anything but a fair election...

The Democrats, if smart, should already start marshalling their
legal troops to challenge this crap.
