Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

It was worse than a bad hair day. Secret Service agents taped over a security camera and broke into a Massachusetts hair salon while securing the area for a Kamala Harris campaign event, according to the salon's owner. The intrusion happened on July 27, ahead of Vice President Harris's first in-person fundraiser since becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee. The owner of the Four One Three Salon, Alicia Powers, told Business Insider that she closed her Pittsfield, Massachusetts, business that day at the request of the Secret Service, which examined the area earlier in the week. The salon is located behind the Colonial Theatre, a performing arts space in the Berkshires, where Harris spoke.

A Secret Service spokesperson told Business Insider that the agency's employees "would not enter" without the permission of the business owner, but acknowledged an agent taped over the security camera lens.

At 8:10 that Saturday morning, a Secret Service agent " wearing a dark suit and open-collared white shirt, but no pin on her lapel " walked up to the salon's front entrance while swinging a roll of masking tape in her left hand. She looked at the door. Then she looked at the security camera on the porch. Then she looked at the door again.

"There were several people in and out for about an hour-and-a-half " just using my bathroom, the alarms going off, using my counter, with no permission," Powers said.

Complain non-stop about the SS failure with the Trump murder attempt, now complaining that they are overzealous. Define your sweet spot.

@#2 ... Define your sweet spot. ...

Sweet spot for MAGA folk seems to be complaining.

Wouldn't you call this a failure too? In what way were they "overzealous"?

It's funny how GasLighter and MattM have no issue with an assasination attempt or a SS violation of someone's rights.

It's just complaining. FFS America is cooked.

Your current alias really needs to try harder.

I mean, really, that is all it seems to have, yet another unsubstantiated assertion?

If fmr Pres Trump wins in November, then I would agree with your current alias' opinion.

So, without permission, the SS duct-taped the security camera, picked the lock and had the bathroom of this salon open for about 2 hours.

Then, they left, didn't even bother to lock up behind and surely didn't clean the bathroom after being appropriated for 2 hours.

Breaking and entering, trespassing and theft (adding to the owners water bill and clean up) ALL crimes.

It was wrong to do it without permission.

If they've broken laws they should be held accountable.

Dems believe in upholding and respecting the rule of law. Wish the other side did ...

"Powers said the Secret Service representative she spoke to offered to have the salon cleaned and pay her alarm company bill for the day. Powers said he also offered to visit and apologize in person over a cup of coffee. Powers said she'd take him up on it."

On no! The government made mistakes, is owning up to it, and doing its best to make it right?

And this causes MAGAts great distress? As they rise up for the candidacy of the obese, orange, traitorous bag of pus who ordered peaceful protesters teargassed so he could come out of hiding in his bunker, waddle across the street, and hold a bible upside down at a church after he forcibly expelled the priests? Why am I not surprised?

Perpetual victimhood is their SOP.

Tell me when I said I had no issue with the murder attempt on Trump. I was quite upset and even more distressed when I found out the SS and local LA failed to coordinate and prevent it.
Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall any glee here regarding the attempt on Trump's life. Concern from some, skepticism was expressed but no joy.

If they've broken laws they should be held accountable.

Telling an apologist for a candidate convicted of 34 felonies, adjudicated as a rapist, four times (soon to be five) indicted for inciting an insurrection, stealing classified documents and obstructing their return and promoting a theft of 81,000,000 votes both through illegal electors AND out and out extortion that is wasting electricity.

They have hitched their wagon to a compulsive liar, adulterer, rapist, sexual predator, pedophile, con artist, etc. so they have lost ALL RIGHTS to bitch about anything. PERIOD.

They can cry their crocodile tears into their $399 gold sneakers and dab their eyes from pages from a trump bible.

They love assigning positions then hyperventilating over the position they assigned.

You should probably leave while you can.

If Trumpy wins your VISA card is less than worthless and in fact that's how he will find you to deport you.

I remember when Jarvanka's detail had to rent an apartment because Sparkle Pony wouldn't let the SS use any of the 6 bathrooms in the house they were guarding.

But no big... the government has lots of money to throw away, right?

I just read that SS is backtracking on their apology.

The secret serves broke into her place of business without permission?

Then why isn't she suing?

Did they have permission to use her facility?

If so. Why was the bathroom locked?

Sounds like not enough information and a lot of knee jerking Trumpers.

This sounds horrible!

"I pay taxes, I'm on top of my stuff, it was just a violation. I was like Wow, that can happen without permission,' and that was kind of mind-blowing for me," she told iBerkshires.

"They left the tape on my camera and they left my back door completely unlocked," Powers told The Berkshire Eagle. "What could have happened in that hour and a half or two hours that you guys left the building unlocked?"

Seems the SS is messing up at campaign events. Once at a Trump rally and now at a Harris one.

I hope these will be the only two incidents. It's rare to hear of the SS messing up and now they've done so twice in a short amount of time.
