A news outlet has claimed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah may have "suffocated" from toxic gases inside his secret bunker after it was demolished by an Israeli airstrike.

On a somewhat-related note, it's been interesting for me seeing the realignment of certain individuals I know IRL regarding the present conflict with Muslim terrorists.

People who have nothing but dislike for Muslims. Greeks and Armenians (who have told me before how much they abhor Turks and Muslims), suddenly find themselves favoring Hamas and HezzBawlzOff. This is despite the fact that they insisted in years past how much they wish to see Muslims eliminated for past offenses and the future well-being of their own people.

My take is that they hate Jews more than they hate Muslims, or that China's TikTok pro-terrorist political brainwashing has been highly effective.

Look neither side in this is right and frankly what Israel has been doing in Gaza is abhorrent. I lose no sleep over Nasrallah having a miserable demise than I would over Nuttyahoo doing the same. Speaking frankly, a solution is needed to end this ceaseless conflict. Israel will commit genocide to achieve it. None of what has happened in the region in the last 100 years is right. We must acknowledge our own role here.

If one truly wants to see a solution, it helps to take into account reality.

The powers that be, often including Israel, have offered peace and statehood multiple times ("How Palestine rejected offer to have its own state 5 times in the past" lawandsocietymagazine.com).

The Palestinians don't want peace. At least not one where Israel (Jews) continues to exist. They think that they're going to turn the entire world against Israel and then the Jews will magically disappear. Unfortunately for them, 7.2 million nuke-Jews aren't going to do that.

How is it that people like JPW don't understand this? There is a whole mythology that has been promulgated amongst that Palestinian population that their wealth and prosperity has been stolen from them and the whole region should be theirs.

I think the Israeli government is ------ to the Palestinians, but I see it as similar to the relationship between the Germans and the allies after WWII. Now we're all friends, but had Germans sought to use force to re-establish the Third Reich and attacked the allies for 80 strait years-and I am confident that the occupation would have never left had this been a thing-then the relationship between Germany and the allies, especially the civilian populations, would be very different.

I don't think people like JPW understand that, if Palestinians stop fighting, you get peace. If Israel stops fighting, they get exterminated. There is no scenario where Palestinians get exterminated. The only organization that may be seeking this is Hamas.
