When are these idiots going to learn that Fat Donny Chucklehead doesn't pay his bills?
It is why only 2,000 gymnasiums will rent to him, why he prefers outdoor rallies because the rent is lower and why the bus company abandoned hundreds of his coachella cult to walk five miles to their cars in 93 degree heat.
He's got no problem paying Melanie $250K for an hour speech or her "stylist" $18K a month. But then again it has always been about how much money he can legally steal from donors.

If you schedule Trump for anything and don't get the money up front, you're an idiot. Period.

If Trump is elected in 2024 the Heritage Foundation is ready to release a whole new Constitution modeled after the one that keeps Mr. Putin in power. Any opposition will be forced to flee for his life or end up in prison.
Oh, and we'll have a new American Flag, too. Anyone caught flying the old American Flag will be arrested and charged with treason.

Frightening but, unfortunately, accurate.

Sell the indebtedness at $0.50 on the dollar to a collection agency. Before you can say Jack Robinson, Trump's plane will be booted and not permitted to take off until a cashier's check is presented...

"Musk. Wants a Cabinet position."
Unless the two of them have a falling out over who is the Alpha, Trump will probably appoint Musk as Director of the FCC where he can carry out Trump's vendetta and also build a nice enterprise of his own in the broadband business.
The cost of the internet will go through the roof and those too poor will get their information from State TV.
Trump is thinking further ahead than we give him credit for. Especially the Immunity decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. He's planning on that to take care of every rotten thing he does if he's elected. And the list is long and painful.

As far as Trump is concerned, campaign dough is his personal, private stash. He's a miser and among the most self-entitled of self-entitled nepobabies. His initial reaction is to screw over anyone to whom he owes money. He's always been a freeloader, conman, and crook. Nobody really has any excuse to be surprised at the man's standard operating procedure of leaving someone else holding the bag. That's what people like him do. That's why, if you're paying attention, you steer clear of bums like Trump.

The event center en.wikipedia.org on the CMSU campus, collected their fee in advance. If I recall it was 60K or in that ballpark.

It looks to be the city trying to collect, the campus confirmed they were paid, as you note.
From the cited article...
... The costs to the city include $63,000 to the police department, $60,000 to public services, $61,000 to a road change order opening up a roundabout that was closed for construction, $21,000 to the fire department, and $1,800 to the IT department. ... SCSU officials have confirmed they have been paid the $35,000 fee they charged the Trump campaign to rent their facility. ...

I was part of a walking demonstration about a mile from the arena. There was a large police presence, at least 4 local departments, deputies and state police. I thought it was a bit much when they would cruise by in full combat gear in an APC. It was mostly cat ladies and members of the queer community, very threatening.

Maybe the Secret Service required that level of protection by local law enforcement?

We were more than a mile away from the Don and on foot. Why would the Secret Service want combat loaded personnel that far from the former president? We were bracketed by 4 squads and deputies on foot at the time. All with communications gear if they thought we were getting out of hand and needed to be suppressed violently. I would think that the combat loaded folks would need to be near the president to act as a rapid reaction force, not intimidate folks that were nowhere near the arena.
