"Trump could use this power in an unprecedented way, potentially forcing Congress into a recess, then using it to make unilateral appointments, Charles Cameron, a professor of politics and public affairs at Princeton University, told Axios Thursday.

Trump's "gambit would be a gigantic delivery of power to the President," the professor said.

"This power transfer goes against senators' very DNA," he added."

This is how Rome's senate fell and Ceasar became a monarch.

Trump advisers propose bypassing FBI background checks for appointees
www.theguardian.com

... Donald Trump's aides have floated the idea of granting immediate security clearances to officials in a second term and doing away with FBI background checks for appointees who might otherwise fail the process, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The plan would be intended to eliminate the risk of the former president's nominees for senior posts being subject to intrusive background investigations intended to check for criminal histories, conflicts of interest or other potential liabilities that would normally be deemed disqualifying. ...

To me, it looks like Pres-elect Trump is moving towards unchecked power for his Presidency.

"the Roman Senate granted Julius Caesar many honors, including the title of dictator for life"

If Trump convinces or republican congress to bestow their power to the executive branch, democracy is over

... Trump is asking the Senate to surrender its advise-and-consent role for Cabinet confirmations, ...

At this point, the question we will not know an answer to until next year is: will the Senate go along with Pres-elect's Trump's request?

Yes.

Yes.

Absolutely. Elon has said he'll launch financial campaigns against any Republican in Congress that crosses him and his co-president, Lewzer.

The demented orange pedo and Venmo Gaetz always perk up when they hear the word "recess."

Dude, it's over. If the Republicans don't wake up.

What's the chance of that? America loves a Strong Daddy.

Trump Uber Alles. Rome Fell into Tyranny... Why not Washington DC?

People are not Rational.

pretty obvious: he is demanding recess appointments because he knows all of them are unqualified and have a lot of dirty laundry that would be aired, then they would get voted down.

Recess appointments with no FBI check.

What could go wrong!

That they are discussing this means to me they are aware of the low-caliber of the people they are nominating.

That is, apparently not even trying to hide behind a "the best and the brightest" lie anymore.

because he can....

The recess appointments clause is found in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. It says, "The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session." This clause was adopted by the Constitutional Convention.

although there were limits put in place in 2014.

President Bill Clinton made 139 recess appointments and President George W. Bush made 171, though either used the process for top-level cabinet positions.
President Barack Obama tried to continue the practice, using it 32 times.n

as it says..."though neither used the process for top-level cabinet positions."

so let's see how it plays out. I think they should all go through the senate and the GOP proves again just

how despicable democrats are....

the most important thing ?....screw democrats at every opportunity !!
