The best thing King Dotard II can do at this point is to play a lot of golf, and keep his mouth shut. From my view in the investment world I see the following:
-Jay Powell and the Fed did a great job in the last four years. Soft landing? There was no landing. The US economy plugged along and then got stronger, with excellent equity markets, strong employment and wage growth
-if the new administration is successful in running out a small fraction of the illegals in this country it will be felt in most Red states. If half of the goal of 11 million deportations happens, the construction and hospitality industries will seize up and the US economy will fall into recession
-DOGE will be forgotten but the Trump I tax breaks will be extended and the deficit will soar, as will interest rates
-most of the economic policies discussed publicly by the new administration will spark inflation and wages will again lag, so many MAGA party candidates will be easy targets in 2026, if those elections take place
-if Dotard II tries to fire Powell the bond market (the most powerful force in the world) will freak out and interest rates will soar. Home purchases will stop.

Diamond Joe will get credit for the economy from 2022-24 in a year or so. The new guy will blame his predecessor for the actions taken after the inauguration. Hands off is what all should hope for ...
