Sorry. Down 400 now.

My 401(K) can't take much more of this "winning".

If the market REALLY thought this was going to bring back all this manufacturing, it wouldn't be crashing.

So now Wall Street is more important than Main Street in the Dem mind to justify your continual whining?

@#5 ... So now Wall Street is more important than Main Street in the Dem mind to justify your continual whining? ...

That depends.

If you follow the Republican line, and say that privatized retirement accounts are the goal for the future, well, then, yes.

But if you stay with things like Social Security, then no.

Yeah the chart in that article may be creating concerns for those who reply upon their privatized retirement funds.

@#8 ... Want to make a bet on the value of the Dow 6 months from now? ...

No.

Because I would also not want to make a bet upon Pres Trump's policy decisions 6 hours from now.

The value of the Dow is based upon certainty in the economy. CEO forecasts that are based upon what they see going forward.

The Trump tariffs are forcing CEOs to lead through uncertainty. Here's how the best executives guide their teams in tough times
fortune.com

... Just a few months ago, as CEOs packed the front row at the U.S. presidential inauguration, the business mood was optimistic. The stock market was soaring, crypto was headed to the moon, Elon Musk was rooting out D.C. inefficiencies, and regulation was receding.

Today that optimism has been replaced with caution. This is not the same President Trump we've seen before. Once a novice to the gummed-up processes in Washington, he is now moving with the benefit of hindsight and four years' experience. This Trump is more powerful and faster at putting his agenda to work, removing barriers that previously held him back. ...

OK, stated differently, and a more direct answer to the question your current alias proffered ..,

Wanna make a bet of what tariff policies Pres Trump will state six days from now?

Your current alias is talking in a time frame of months, while the whimsical Pres Trump seems to work in a minute-by-minute time frame.

So, no, I'll not take your current alias up on that wager.

www.whitehouse.gov

... In March, the U.S. added 228,000 jobs - nearly 100,000 more jobs than economists predicted ...

The numbers do not seem to match up with your current alias' assertion.

Care to explain why?

@#14 ... March jobs, April tariffs ...

Good observation.

The jobs numbers (and many other economic indicators) are backward-looking.

i.e., last month.

What has happened, as opposed to what might happen.

But, for the CEOs, well, their job is to look forward.

Try to plan upon what may happen.

And the CEOs have been raising concerns about the uncertainty.

Depends on whether you're betting it will continue to sink or rise.

Because it's not going to rise with the current attitude in office.

Countries that don't trade with each other tend to go to war with each other.

Us Democrats have actually read our history books unlike Trump and his cult followers. Stock Market is a good indicator for coming recession or even depression. We do understand though that erratic behavior by Trump doesn't bother you because you can't really understand that erratic behavior is not just Trump being Trump; it's also a symptom of mental instability of the President! But hey, that's OK because Donald Trump is a stable genius!

Why do Republicans have no idea how the economy works?

When Wall Street suffers, Main Street suffers more.
