"He used to walk around the cloakroom showing people porno of him and his latest girlfriend," one former Republican lawmaker told Atlantic writer Elaine Godfrey, speaking anonymously. "He'd show me a video, and I'd say, 'That's great, Matt.' Like, what kind of a reaction do you want?"

More: Representative Matt Gaetz has a reputation as a provocateur and MAGA ideologue on Capitol Hill, with an active ethics investigation against him. After a new profile in The Atlantic, he might be known for other, worse reasons.

One such revelation in the piece, published Thursday, was that he'd show videos of his sexual conquests to other staffers and members of Congress on Capitol Hill.

"He used to walk around the cloakroom showing people ----- of him and his latest girlfriend," one former Republican lawmaker told Atlantic writer Elaine Godfrey, speaking anonymously. "He'd show me a video, and I'd say, That's great, Matt.' Like, what kind of a reaction do you want?"

He also, early in his career as a state legislator in Florida, was allegedly involved in a "points game," in which he and other Republican lawmakers earned points for sleeping with women, with one point for doing so with a lobbyist, three points for a fellow legislator, six for a married fellow legislator, and so on.

I'm not sure he can be a bigger creep than I thought, but wasn't all this behavior known at the time of his budding notoriety?

"showing his colleagues nude pictures of his dates."

I'm guessing the dates are a fan of this because they might get some business from the other Congressmen.

"Gaetz Is an Even Bigger Creep Than You Thought"

Unpossible.

@#8 ... What a klassy guy. Perfect for FL, though. ...

Yeah, that's one aspect of all this brouhaha that I wonder about.

How did he get elected?

I mean... ... "He used to walk around the cloakroom showing people ----- of him and his latest girlfriend," one former Republican lawmaker told Atlantic writer Elaine Godfrey, ...

Do those in his district have similar views and, ummm, urges?

Stated differently, what are the people of his district like, such that they support him to represent them?

Oh Good Grief. Isn't it obvious?

Gaetz has "manhood" issues if he has to work that hard to try and prove it.

We've previously heard about Pedo Gaetz showing colleagues pornographic images/videos of his very young-looking dates. This is the first time I've noted that he was in the videos with the girls. We just did mandatory sexual harassment training at work (new HR Director), behavior like Gaetz's would have been a firing offense at any time in my 35 years in the workforce, how is it that he gets away with it? No wonder Cassidy Hutchinson was so grossed out by his attentions, he is scum, just like the Repukes he served with in Florida with their points system. Just disgusting perverts, it's no wonder they bow down at the altar of Orange Satan, the adjudicated rapist is the biggest scum of them all.

He should have been prosecuted according to all the allegations, but the DOJ dropped the investigation after smearing him for a couple years, because they had no evidence. And that's according to the DOJ...

#13 - They had plenty of evidence; the problem is that their primary witness was Greenberg, who was guilty of multiple crimes of dishonesty and eager to cooperate to lighten his sentence, which called any testimony he provided into question. Prosecutors tend to be loathe to base their case on the word of an adjudicated liar. But it was also a Trump-appointed GQP USA who screwed this prosecution, likely on purpose, just like Acosta blew the Epstein prosecution, the GQP doing favors for the GQP.

Getting rid of both DeSantis (he's ineligible for a 3rd term) and Trump in November and the Gaetz problem will solve itself.

The witnesses, besides the victim, were all Republican, so that's not possible.

You mean like when the pic was set in Clinton's favor when he raped all those women? Sounds like a typical Democrat. "we don't have any evidence, but we still want a guilty verdict anyway"

You goofy ------- are all starting to sound as retarded as LegallyGivesHead and his Chupachabra mom, Clownshack.

They have plenty of evidence - don't know where you heard that BS. Do you think Gaetz nuked McCarthy over his Ethics investigation because there was "no evidence"? It's just the opposite. There's all kinds of evidence, allegedly the problem is that key witnesses/victims don't want to give open testimony and most of those involved are either participants or have other credibility issues themselves.

Questionable Credibility of Two Key Witnesses in Matt Gaetz Probe May Lead to No Criminal Charges: Report (September 2022)
lawandcrime.com

... Citing several unnamed sources "familiar with the matter," the Washington Post on Friday reported that "career prosecutors" have recommended against filing charges against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla. 1) in a sex trafficking probe. ...

According to Friday's Washington Post report, a grand jury heard from both Greenberg and "an ex-girlfriend" of Gaetz. Those witnesses zeroed in on a trip Gaetz "allegedly took to the Bahamas in 2018" with several women.

The Post explained the problems with what the ex-girlfriend allegedly revealed:

The 17-year-old at issue in the investigation was also on that trip, though by that time she was already 18 or older, people familiar with the matter have said. She has been a central witness in the investigation, but people familiar with the case said she is one of two people whose testimony has issues that veteran prosecutors feel would not pass muster with a jury.

The newspaper said prosecutors further believe Greenberg's veracity would also cause serious problems at a hypothetical trial.

Their fears, according to the Post, are at least partially connected to the core essence of one of Greenberg's six guilty pleas. When a Florida teacher ran against Greenberg for the office of tax collector, Greenberg admitted that he sent fake missives to the rival candidate's school district to accuse the teacher of engaging in sex acts with a student. Greenberg pleaded guilty to a count of stalking connected to that political hit job.

Again citing "a person familiar with the matter," the Post said that Greenberg "has been providing investigators information about Gaetz since last year." However, because Greenberg pleaded guilty to a count of stalking surrounding fake accusations involving sex, prosecutors are loathe to trust whatever accusations Greenberg may have levied against Gaetz, the Post reported. ...

Gee, it looks like those "unnamed sources" that the Washington Post cited were correct.
