... SOUTHCOM told Newsweek, "Given the breadth of investment into logistics infrastructure China has made in the Caribbean, we are concerned that China could task its state-owned enterprises and diaspora to conduct intelligence or influence operations against the U.S. and our partners in the region for military purposes. Those concerns are further heightened when you consider the Chinese Communist Party's practice of targeting, recruiting and bribing officials." Wow. Going to run fishing operations out of it too. Guess they found someone that will let them have a base to blunder the Caribbean.

Of course they did. Why wouldn't they? I guess Cuba has already been done. As long as China doesn't install ballistic missiles or send their navy to Antigua, we can't do much about it.

And what would you do about it if they did?

Exactly, as the US admits Chinese migrants by the truck load, at this point what difference will it make?

Migrants have nothing to do with it. I'm pretty sure China (or anyone else) can sail their navy wherever they want, so long as they stay out of territorial waters of countries that deny them permission to enter.

Do you have any idea what/where Antigua is? Hint: It's not in the USA.

Tell that to Christopher Wray.

I love stuff like this, instead of seeing a trend or looking at all the data. They just point to one data point, the current data point today and say SEE its not that bad.
They can't extrapolate or understand how trends matter more than todays news.

Use Google Earth. You see that chicken coop in Boaz' back yard? You know, the one with the oversized Trump '16, '20 and '24 flags flying above it? Yup, that's the one.
One of the chickens inside that coop is Boaz' favorite. Her name is Henny Penny. She talks to Boaz and gives him advice, from time to time...

#8 it will make a difference if China starts offloading weaponry and surveillance tech there. This will not 'end well'. It shouldn't even be allowed to start. Embargo? Military blockade?
This is a direct result of Xi wanting to create a Taiwan situation in our own backyard to gain leverage, and draw troops.

Ok bright boy, what do you propose doing about it? Invade Antigua, overthrow the government, and kick Chinese interests off the island? Blockade China?

Now do the US. 800 Military bases, many in areas not really interested in them being there.
It really sucks when your own behavior is directed by others at you.
Somehow, American interests being upset by this, is actually Funny.

What funny is your not having clue about the real world.
Can you name one military base that's been officially asked to be removed but refuses to go? (and don't say Iraq because they publicly asked us to leave then privately begged us to stay and now we are BFFs).
Also ... do you remember when in FRANCE after WW2 Charles De Gaul asked the Americans to remove all American soldiers from France?
"When President de Gaulle decided to quit NATO, President Johnson was determined to do everything that de Gaulle asked us to do, simply as a matter of dignity, and get out our forces out of France before the deadline. But de Gaulle's request went down hard in Washington. In fact, Johnson insisted that I ask de Gaulle, "Do you want us to move American cemeteries out of France as well?" I carried out my instructions. De Gaulle, very embarrassed, had nothing to say." -Dean Rusk.

Okinawa, the local government has wanted the US military base there removed for years.
It's still there.
Guantanamo is not wanted by the Cubans, still there.
Niger just threw us out. We Still haven't gone anywhere.
I'm sure a few minutes on Google could find many more examples.

For that matter. Wasn't 9/11 over the presence of military bases in the ME?
That sure didn't help American interests, unless you own stock in defense companies.
Imperialists always think the locals love their Servitude.

"Wasn't 9/11 over the presence of military bases in the ME?"
That was one of OBL's grievances, and we promptly abandoned those bases in Saudi Arabia.

Oh sure now you want my advice....
But when it mattered in Ukraine you ignored it. This is all part of that sequence of events.
Good luck.
