New Hampshire GQP Takes Stand Against Polio Vaccine
A first-in-the-nation bill that's already passed New Hampshire's state House, sponsored only by Republican legislators, would end the requirement for parents enrolling kids in childcare to provide documentation of polio and measles vaccination.

Residents of Protection, Kansas, came together in the spring of 1957 to make their town the first in the nation to be fully inoculated against polio. Today, like many rural communities, the town is divided over how to fight COVID-19. PROTECTION, Kansas " Sixty-four years ago, residents of this tiny town in southwestern Kansas set a public health example. They made their town the first in the nation to be fully inoculated against polio.

Polio honestly probably won't matter much in the US. Zero wild cases since 1979, it's pretty well done here.
The sort of people who won't vaccinate their kids are probably not likely to be heading to Pakistan or Afghanistan any time soon, they're the only countries in the world with endemic polio.
Routine smallpox vaccination mostly stopped in the US long before it was eradicated worldwide, the last wild US smallpox case was in 1949, by 1970 the vaccine was optional here.
Measles, on the other hand....

All it takes is someone going to one of the places it still occurs and bringing it back. I am sure we could extinguish it pretty quick but still...

What a bunch of backward loons. The Polio vaccine has eliminated the scourge of Polio. Vaccines ended Smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, most of measles, German measles, and on and on. Back to the stone age with feathers, horse paste and a dance around the fire to propitiate the Gods... Or burn some witches. Up next. Rain dances

Too bad COVID did not get rid of enough of these morons when their leader, the fat orange woman raping traitor told them to suck up some bleach. Sure, get rid of all vaccines as they are just so Twentieth Century.

"the ones who just stroll across the Southern border unchecked. Thanks Biden."
Why did Republicans kill the bill designed to address that exact problem?
And in what bizarro world does once side unilaterally kill a deal, and then blame the other?
Time for The Party of Responsibility to take some Responsibility.

Because it was full of garbage that your president wasn't willing to rescind. But you already knew that.

Danforth,
Please stop with the ridiculous spin regarding the garbage immigration bill that didn't even make it out of the Senate. A year ago the House actually passed a bill that strengthened border enforcement and it is collecting dust on Schumer's desk. If you actually care about the issue maybe, just perhaps, you might call out a Democrat leader ... .

the garbage bill that had almost everything republicans wanted. you are a hyper partisan.
#22 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2024-04-24 05:20 AM | Reply
Okay. Show me using the language in the bill itself that gives much of anything that those who oppose illegal immigration want.
#23 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-04-24 05:29 AM | Reply
Then compare it with the House bill THAT ACTUALLY PASSED that Schumer has sat on.
