Brings a smile to my face when Trump hurts the right people.

Hate to break it to you.
But.
You see that blue district on the bottom left corner of the state of Tennessee on your map.
That's Memphis.
They clearly didn't vote for Trump.
But. You keep on smiling.
Throw in some dead Palestinians to brighten your day.

... Musk named it Colossus and said it was the "most powerful AI training system in the world." It was sold locally as a source of jobs, tax dollars and a key addition to the "Digital Delta" -- the move to make Memphis a hotspot for advanced technology. "This is just the beginning," xAI said on its website; the company already has plans for a second facility in the city. But for some residents in nearby Boxtown, a majority Black, economically-disadvantaged community that has long endured industrial pollution, xAI's facility represents yet another threat to their health. AI is immensely power-hungry, and Musk's company installed dozens of gas-powered turbines, known to produce a cocktail of toxic pollutants. The company currently has no air permits, appearing to rely on a loophole for temporary turbines -- but environmental groups say the exemption does not apply, and residents are angry. ...

@#4 ... "This is just the beginning," ...
Actually, it does not look like just the beginning of the world's wealthiest person (intentionally?) hurting and possibly killing off less fortunate people for his own benefit.

Tennessee is a Republican state. Republicans don't believe in pollution.

Apparently to the point that their policies are affecting the health of the people in their state?

When they say "environmental racism" which you don't hear much any more. It means stuff like this, where the people who suffer the most are poor and minorities.

I could not have said it more succinctly myself.

Of course, that then prompts a question ...
Why do Republicans seem to want to actively kill off the people who are less likely to support them?

Billionaires don't give a ---- about anyone but themselves.
If you think a billionaire cares about you, you are terminally stupid.

I love how the Righties believe that these cities are some isolated island that exist in a vacuum and can't be choked by the state government. How interested do you think the rest of the state is with solving Memphis' problems? One of the main issues is the way the state governments are actively hostile to their cities.

I think Memphis has more problems than a new computer. Besides, This part of Memphis, home to 17 other polluting facilities " including an oil refinery, steel plant and gas-fired power plant " is used to fighting for clean air.
Tell ya what, just get a job at the oil refinery, steel plant and gas-fired power plant, never mind having a newly-created air-conditioned sit-down job. something makes me think, though, that the ones complaining the most are not actually working for a living.

"dozens of gas-powered turbines"
"The facility receives 150 megawatts from the local public utility " enough to power around 100,000 homes. xAI is now awaiting approval for a further 150 megawatts."
Huh. So much for Tesla's expertise in electric engines, battery storage and solar panels I guess.

Somehow they manage to understand it when it's a Blue state like California...

Abolish the EPA! Business makes jobs so breathing is now a luxury they can't afford in Tennesssee! Breathing is over rated and unnecessary if it stands in the way of Elon Musk's profits!
