He's too old. Perhaps it has changed recently, but Federal Law enforcement agencies have never hired candidates over the age of 35. It has to do with the pension requiring a minimum of 20 years to reach eligibility for retirement.

Secretary Noem Unveils No Age Limit for Patriotic Americans to Join ICE Law Enforcement to Help Remove Worst of the Worst from U.S. (August 6, 2025)
www.dhs.gov

... U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem today announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will waive age limits for new applicants so even more patriots will qualify to join ICE in its mission to arrest murderers, pedophiles, gang members, rapists, and other criminal illegal aliens from America's streets. ...

@#12

It seems that ICE had recruiting troubles.

So ICE seems to have [drastically?] lowered its requirements in order to get people to sign up.

The sweet spot here is join Army at 17, retire full pension at 37, join Fed police, retire second full pension at 57.

It's all about the handouts when you're a cop or a soldier.

Another you don't hear on your pop radio ...

Steeleye Span - Alison Gross (1973)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt ...

genius.com

...
[Verse 1]
Alison Gross that lives in yon tower
The ugliest witch in the North Country
Has trysted me one day up to her bower
And many a fair speech she made to me

She stroked my head and she combed my hair
She set me down softly on her knee
Saying if you will be my lover so true
So many good things I would give to you

[Pre-Chorus]
Away, away, you ugly witch
Go far away and let me be
I never will be your lover so true
And wish I were out of your communy

[Chorus]
Alison Gross she must be
The ugliest witch in the North Country
Alison Gross she must be
The ugliest witch in the North Country

[Verse 2]
She showed me a mantle of red scarlet
With golden flowers and fringes fine
Saying if you will be my lover so true
This goodly gift it shall be thine

She showed me a shirt of the softest silk
Well wrought with pearls abound the band
Saying if you will be my lover so true
This goodly gift you shall command

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
She showed me a cup of the good red gold
Well set with jewels so fair to see
Saying if you will be my lover so true
This goodly gift I will give to thee

[Pre-Chorus]
Away, away, you ugly witch
Go far away and let me be
I never would kiss your ugly mouth
For all of the gifts that you could give

[Chorus]

[Verse 4]
She turned her right and round about
And thrice she blew on a grass-green horn
She swore by the moon and the stars of above
That she'd make me rue the day I was born

The out she has taken a silver wand
She's turned her three times round and round
She muttered such words till my strength it did fail
And she's turned me into an ugly worm

I knew of these fellows. He joined the USAF at 17 with parental approval, finished college at night, began applying for federal positions at 35 (or so) and became a Special Agent with US Department of Commerce before his 37th birthday. Plus, he claimed a medical condition (dandruff!) from his deployments and received 10 or 15 VA points towards his application. Double pension! Cha-ching!

I worked with one at Stars And Stripes. Started with the government at 38, at the benefits level of a 20 year government employee.

He has a pretty cool photo from Desert Storm of him with Colin Powell out in the middle of the desert someplace. Respect to Powell to showing up for the troops like that.

And US Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), collects three Texas pensions(!) That's what makes John Cornyn so in touch with the common man, fully in empathy with struggling Americans trying to make ends meet.

George Reeves (from AI):

George Reeves, best known for playing Superman on television, was found dead from a gunshot wound in his Los Angeles home on June 16, 1959. While the official ruling was suicide, the circumstances surrounding his death were highly controversial and remain a subject of speculation.

Could have been defenestration.
