Who said there is a RIGHT to apply to a country that's not yours?

What is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
The UDHR is a milestone international document that sets out the fundamental rights and freedoms to which all human beings are entitled. Think of it as a global blueprint for dignity and equality.

When was it created? It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on December 10, 1948, in the aftermath of World War II. The goal was to ensure the atrocities of that conflict would never be repeated.

Who wrote it? It was drafted by representatives from diverse legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, with Eleanor Roosevelt chairing the drafting committee.

What does it do? It consists of 30 Articles that define our basic rights"from the right to life and freedom from torture to the right to education and the right to seek asylum.
The UDHR is founded on several core ideas:

Universality: These rights belong to everyone, everywhere, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status. You don't have to earn them; you are born with them.

Inalienable: These rights cannot be taken away.

Indivisible: You cannot pick and choose which rights apply. Civil/political rights (like free speech) and economic/social/cultural rights (like the right to work) are all equally important.

What is the Right of Asylum?
The right of asylum is the protection granted by a sovereign state to an individual who is seeking refuge from persecution in their home country. It is a fundamental human right, enshrined in Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that "Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution."

The core principle is that a country must not expel or return an individual to a territory where their life or freedom would be threatened. This is known as the principle of non-refoulement.

#2,

You only have a right to what the mob says you have or what you can defend yourself.

There is a woman being raped in Africa somewhere right now. How does this document protect her in the moment she is being raped?

Answer, it doesnt. Until another man comes along and beats up the man who was raping her, she has no rights at that moment. She only has the right to be taken. It's called nature. Those are the "rights" we have.

Anything else is just bullshit and liberal/progressive wishful thinking.

If someone else has to provide you the "right", it isnt a right.

The bi-partisan bill that Pres Biden was willing to sign significantly tightened up the required needed to apply for asylum.

I agree, that the asylum requirements were being abused, with potential asylum-seekers being coached along their way into the US, telling them what to say to the agents they talked with at the border.

It was all set for bi-partisan approval by Congress, until candidate Trump commanded Republicans to reject it.

So, it seems Pres Trump and the Republicans were against the reform of our asylum laws?

Why?

Second Amendment isn't really a right, since the government has to provide it.
