The US ambassador to the UN has accused Rwanda of leading Africa's Great Lakes region toward war, just over a week after a peace deal was signed in Washington to end the decades-long conflict.

Pres Trump, in his peace deals, seems to be more concerned about the short-term transactional aspects of establishing a cease-fire.

But in doing so, he seems to neglect the longer term ramifications of those results.

And, for the countries at war, it usually is not about some short-term acquiescence, it is about the long-tern solution that ends decades of fighting.

Why does Old Senescent even count "sh*thole countries" in his embarrassing quest for a golden gong?

Imagine being this stupid.

Trump gets a fake Peace Deal that will never last.
MAGAts celebrate like Trump accomplished something.
Deal falls apart immediately.
Dems make fun of MAGAts for being idiotic cult cheerleaders.
Visitor_: "Dems are cheering this!"

Idiot, maybe stop giving Trump credit for accomplishing NOTHING all the time.

"Why does Old Senescent even count "sh*thole countries" in his embarrassing quest for a golden gong?

You answered your own question.

For short term bragging that he hoped (by non-stop repeating) would reach the ears of the Nobel Committee.

Trump is fighting demons in his own head.

Being recognized by the Nobel is the ultimate in presidential achievements.

The fact that Barack Obama has a Nobel and he doesn't is driving Trump nuttier than usual. Trump is so accustomed to lying, cheating, bribing, hoaxing and scamming his way through life, it never occurs to him to accomplish anything honestly.

His other problem is that the thinks everybody is just like him ~ thus the constant projections about others being liars, cheaters and hoaxers.

Lol. Dems did not torpedo this deal. It was completely due to Republican incompetence. And we said from the beginning that he doesn't know what he is doing. That he oversimplifies very complex issues, says he can fix them and the gullible mouth breathers believe him. I wish he wasn't so stupid and incompetent. But the facts, like this one, do not lie. So we have to content ourselves with saying "I told you so", because we did.

REIN

The bottom line is Trump's childish jealousy that derives him to wanton destruction. He is, by nature, also self-destructive.

Right now, his head is about to explode with the sense of power he thinks he's amassing combined with the terrify fear of losing it.

But the end is near. The fissures are visible.

I don't think we can count on Trump taking his own life. It's not due to cowardice but rather his fear that somebody else will get all his money.

No.

I'd rather the Country has a President who does not prevaricate in apparent self-promotion.

But apparently, your current trolling alias is OK with Pres Trump lying, as he seems to foster war(s)?

Too late, SCOTTY.

The Nobel Peace Prize has already been awarded to someone who didn't try to lie, cheat and attempt to bribe the Nobel Committee.

No one is surprised. Honesty is something Trump doesn't understand. Like a spoiled brat, (who seriously needs a trip to the woodshed) he has already hurled accusations of dishonesty at the Committee.

Agreed.

But, I'm not in agreement about the "bribe" aspect.

Got a link?

thx.

This is to what I was referring:

"The user is likely referring to recent events where some world leaders nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the prize after he brokered various peace deals, in what some observers described as a way to curry favor with him or "the way to his heart". Some of these nominations were explicitly linked to the expectation of quid pro quo benefits, such as a transit corridor or favorable trade relations."

We may never know who was bribing whom, but Trump is usually the one with his thumb on the scale.

OK, I agree about ~some world leaders~ nominating him for their own benefit. Yeah, that's a bribe.

thx, for that follow-up.

Thanks to you, too. I could have been more clear. I just assumed everybody knew. My mistake.

To continue,I doubt that this issue is over.

Knowing with whom the Nobel Committee is dealing, I hope they're girding their loins for next year. Trump never forgets and never forgives. Case in evidence, he's still nursing his loss in the 2020 election like a it's a festering boil.

I think the Committee's funding is secure but, knowing Trump, he'll find some way to destroy the illustrious honor of the Award.

"he'll find some way to destroy the illustrious honor of the Award.

Knowing Trump penchant for revenge, he'll sic his dogs on a Committee member to fabricate some dirt to claim the 2025 award was wrought with fraud.

Anything to vindicate himself.

Maybe if Trumpy had an ounce of compassion in his soul he'd stop destroying everything he touches and he might get a "win".

I'd rather the President take his job and the constitution seriously faithfully enforce the Law and not destroy lives and property and not kill anyone or let people die than have anyone "win" anything.

If he continues to act like a King instead of a President he will continue to fail.

America is not into Kings.

Join the club. What you're asking for is the exact opposite of everything Trump stands for.

He'll give up when they throw the last shovel full of dirt on his grave. . . . or he gets locked up in a rubber room, whichever comes first.

Trump decided he'd rather harm american democracy than admit he lost an election.

And he decided he'd rather let hundreds of thousands of poor people die than have rich people pay taxes to keep them alive.
