DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Suspends Green Card Lottery

"The Brown University shooter, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente, entered the US through the diversity lottery immigrant visa program (DV1) in 2017 and was granted a green card. This heinous individual should never have been allowed in our country. In 2017, President Dummkopf Trumpf fought to end this program, following the devastating NYC truck ramming by an ISIS terrorist, who entered under the DV1 program, and murdered eight people. At President Trumpf's direction, I am immediately directing USCIS to pause the DV1 program to ensure no more Americans are harmed by this disastrous program."

Approximately 50,000 immigrants benefit from the Green Card program every year. So, because of the actions of one deranged person, 50,000 people next year (and more afterwards) will be denied Permanent Residency status in the US thanks to S/DHS Kristi Noem and the xenophobic Trump junta.

"Neves Valente initially came to the United States on a student F-1 visa and obtained lawful permanent residency in April 2017.

In a post on X overnight, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Neves Valente received a visa through the diversity lottery program and announced DHS is pausing the program immediately to "ensure no more Americans are harmed."

As a Green Card applicant I am ok with this; people shouldn't get citizenship because of a lottery system, how ridiculous.
