A few months ago, ICE hired me I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!" My latest for Slate

You people are so insulated from how the real world works.

It's called "hands-on learning." Like a plumber's apprentice, or an intern making photocopies at the office. They should make fine officers in three or four years. Thank you for volunteering to be part of their educational process.

No no, Hillary 2028!

Let's make sure Trump wins again!

I'm sure this retard has me blocked for calling him out for supporting genocide.

With genocidal democrats like him, no wonder the party is dead.

Poe's law originated in a 2005 discussion on christianforums.com, an Internet forum on Christianity. The message was posted during a debate on creationism, where a previous poster had remarked to another user: "Good thing you included the winky. Otherwise people might think you are serious."

My family's "business" was career law enforcement . Father, both grandfathers, mother--all sworn officers "on the job." It's become obvious ICE is filling their ranks with HS dropout mall cops and blatantly ill-suited candidates that most sheriff and local PDs wash out during the oral or psych exams. There is also the suspicion their ranks also include pardoned Jan 6 participants, Proud Boy/Oath Keeper-types, and ex-cops fired from other LE organisations. So...who's willing to sell their soul for that $50,000 signing bonus? Hell...they'll take damn-near any thick-brick that walks through their door--especially if they have their own tactical gear it would appear, as seen in the complete lack of recognizable uniformity in their kits. We all know why they really hide their faces. My question is...do they?

It's hard to avoid the reality all organizations face and the challenges that come with it. You can't outrun it very easily.

I've preached this to my clients for a long time.

It's this.....

"You hire your own problems"

Nobody wants to believe that until they reflect on their current problems and their worst hires over the past few years and they conclude that most if not all of those problems were the result of those poor hires.

#10 Thank you for that excellent post, Dutch46.

And since you mentioned the Proud Boys, always remember:

A Proud Boy is a gelding who thinks he's still a stallion.

Sort of like rushing your pregnant wife to the hospital, water busted, and being killed by a diaper delivery truck that ran a stop sign.

Yeah, I can see that.

In my business, we see red flags when our clients hire someone with a bad driving record (one example). That usually indicates a maturity problem but oftentimes our clients are a little desperate to make the hire regardless because they need bodies.

And they almost always regret it. Accidents, mistakes, tardiness, lazy, etc...all come to fruition if the starting point of employment is to ignore the flaws and ask an insurance company with $5 to $10 million at risk to ignore a horrible driver.

#20 Your comment about a bad driving reminded me of something I witnessed many years ago.

I was on my way to work and was in a school zone (15MPH when flashing) when a large truck in front of me raced through the zone (my guess, even faster than the normal 35MPH speed limit).

The truck, natch, was clearly identified as a truck belonging to a locally-owned bank.

As the bank owners were family friends, I called when I got to work to let them know about the dangerous situation their clearly identified truck was creating for elementary and junior high school students in the area (the two schools right next to each other).

My friend immediately knew what I was communicating, and several weeks later, at a local restaurant, I saw my friend who told me that that driver no longer "represented" his bank. And he thanked me for letting him know.

That's very true. One thing I've come to appreciate where I work is we turn down ~95% of applicants.

Question for the P&C expert.

Is there re-insurance, for when you have regular insurance, but then your driver fails a drug test, so your insurance company denies the claim?

Hiring is a management decision.
Poor hires means poor management.
And yes, what manager wants to blame themselves, when they can blame the people they hired to take the blame?

DHS Picks Fight With Reporter Who Exposed ICE's Shoddy Hiring

Lowering an organization's standards for admission and training in order to hire more people to perform an even more complex job than previously envisioned does seem straight out of Trump's playbook on ensh*ttification (six bankruptcies and thirty-four felony convictions).

Joining ICE these days seems about as effortless for today's psychos as hooking up with the Sturmabteilung was for their avatar Horst Wessel.
