State Rep. James Talarico on Wednesday announced a new Spanish-language ad buy, in what amounts to his first significant push to shore up support from Latino voters as he battles U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett for the Democratic nomination in Texas' U.S. Senate race.

there were a couple of posts before this thread became official:

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) does not accept money from AIPAC; however she votes consistently to arm and fund the IDF.

Texans can better address how she does locally, as in this case in her race against James Talarico, but the antiwar bloc and peace Samaritans won't vote for Jasmine Crockett in national elections.

The majority of Democrats are corporate whores.

Progressive policy is populist policy, something that Democrats have consistantly undermined.

I like James Talarico. Been following him on social media for a little over a year.

He's a very sensible person with a straightforward, honest message.

He talks to people rather than talking down to them and seems incredibly genuine.

His message is he want to fight for Texans, not just the ones in big cities but also rural areas.

If I lived in Texas I'd vote for him without hesitation.

I also like Jasmine Crockett, it's a shame they're running against each other, Texas would benefit from having both of them represent the state.

Unfortunately, Texas is one of the last places where a woman of color would be elected state-wide in a typically red state.

Sadly, America needs another century or two of political evolution before we're ready to join the rest of the world.

There is a reason Jasmine Crockett is not one of these excellent Congresswomen of Color (AKA "The Squad") and it's not her skin color:

"Democratic" Jasmine Crockett constantly votes in favor of sending hardworking American taxpayer funds to Israel, even at the height of the IDF's vicious pogrom in Gaza in 2024 (~72,000 Palestinians killed).

How supporting the IDF killing and ethnically cleansing Palestinians in Gaza helps Jasmine Crockett's constituents in the 30th CD of Texas, keine ahnung. Supporting Sadists Won't Help Pretty Jasmine Crockett

last poll I looked at had him already 10-12 points ahead of the ebony AOC / KAMALA

sources in Texas tell me that's expected to widen....by a lot.

but all the GOP has to do is ask him to define a woman.....to remind

voters that the democrat party is still woke, stupid and dangerous.

I have watched a lot of his YouTube videos, and find myself, an atheist, a fan. He uses his religion as a source of strength, not as a cudgel to force people to bend a knee. He knows firsthand what it is like to be poor and in dire straits...
Since the MAGA right is insisting on empowering the far right christian nationalists to say christianity is the national religion, he would be a good one to take them on.
