At age 18, without any contribution, the account possibly can have $6000. If a parent puts in ONLY $250 a year, it could have 19K. If they held it to age 55, it would have $271K.
That's using capitalism to better the nation.
There is NO argument here. This is actually truth. And NO, this isnt socialism.

Why not? Because you and King Dotard say so? Sounds like redistribution of wealth to me. They're forcing me to give $1000 to some poor kid whose parents are too stupid and lazy to do it themselves. Why doesn't the Government just take $1000 less from my taxes and let me raise my own kids?

More like invest in war and destabilizing miscarriages.
I say putting the armed forces in harm's way with no or minimal VA support will doom most casualties to a very depressing life.
Knowing this, what is our moral obligation or do we have one?

It's that Grand Narcissist, Trump, playing god again, and on the cheap.
The man wants all to love him and despair.

LOL of course Boaz is a big enough idiot to think these accounts are worthwhile.

No, but it is soshulizm.
You know, the caricatured, absurd version you've been lead to believe (and therefore, you do believe) is everything where gubmint money is used to help citizens.
Unless it's you. Gubmint money to your mooching a&& is never soshulizm. The more the better.

Yup.
They told us over and over..
"What the government gives the government can also take away."
If you really believe and trust that Trumpy will be able to make sure your kid gets that money 18 years from now I have a this great golden bridge for you to also invest in.
But you cannot make back any money on this bridge investment for 18 years. But you will be rich Rich RICH then! See ya in 18 years! lol

"At age 18, without any contribution, the account possibly can have $6000. "
Nonsense. That's over 10% per year, compounded. And you're completely ignoring where these monies will ultimately go: bank fees. Even a measly $25/year takes ONE FOURTH of your expected growth.
I LITERALLY had to warn my clients about these accounts, which have been widely panned across the financial world. Why? They're not even as good as 529 plans:
$5000 per year cap, vs. unlimited caps on 529 plans Not deductible, vs. deductible on the state level Index funds only, vs. a half-dozen choices Untouchable before 18, vs. can be tapped for school expenses Turns into taxable IRA, vs. can be turned into a Roth IRA Accounting nightmare, vs. easy rules
OF COURSE Jamie Dimon is in favor!

"your child has a huge head start on the American dream."
Why should the government give your child a huge head start? That's a handout.
Is your child retarded or crippled?
