Jack Hughes not only scored the winning goal, he did it after having several teeth broken/knocked out during the game.

His thoughts to reporters after the game were graceful and patriotic.

I was up and watching the minute it came on.
I also watched the women's hockey win.
This was just outstanding stuff.
The women tied and had to go to sudden death - and the US Women won!
Then the men repeated - sudden deathh, and the US Men won!
Frikken outstanding effort to all teams, and Hellebuyck was unbelievable!
Jack Hughes! Get's high-sticked, loses a tooth, and scores the winning goal in overtime!
I love that his older brother Quinn was on the team with him and was there for all this.

"Dear US Hockey Men's Team, I understand you were caught up in the moment. But to laugh at the joke that he "has to" invite the women's gold medal team, who did exactly what you did but with less support and resources at every step of their lives and careers? You should apologize to them, and to the rest of the women in your life and ours. Your mothers are watching, your sisters are watching, your daughters (or future daughters) are watching. History is watching."

While the men's USA hockey team won the first gold since 1980, the women's team has medaled in every Olympic Games since the inaugural tournament in Nagano, including gold in 2026, 2018, and 1998.

Lake Placid wasn't a vacation. It was a pilgrimage. I went there largely to stand inside Herb Brooks Arena, to see it with my own eyes. That building is a basilica built out of Plexiglas and bone chips. It is taped wrists and chipped paint and banners still humming with the ghosts who earned them. You walk in and history doesn't whisper " it crackles.
So when our anthem rolled out yesterday and those players stood there with gold medals blazing against sweat-slicked jerseys and split lips and taped knuckles, it wasn't just a ceremony, it was a coronation forged in collisions, it was history still sweating through its jersey.
And then " like a corporate watermark slapped across a Renaissance masterpiece " Kash ------- Patel.
Beer in hand. Medal around his neck. Smiling like he logged a shift instead of boarding a ------- jet.
Bug-Eyed Badge Goblin himself, blinking into champagne spray like the locker-room lights just startled him into sentience.
He's the loser kid who never made varsity and still hangs around the locker room pretending he forgot something. The towel-folder. The hallway hoverer hoping a little ball sweat might rub off and baptize him into relevance.
And now he's in Milan on our ------- dime " boarding a government jet we are all paying for " cracking beers like flight miles count as fight minutes.
He didn't bleed for that room. He boarded it.

Headline is wrong.

It incorrectly states: "U.S. Wins First Hockey Gold Since 1980 'Miracle on Ice'"

When in fact: "The United States won the first-ever Olympic gold medal in women's hockey at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. The U.S. team defeated Canada 3-1 in the final on February 17, 1998, to secure the inaugural gold medal in the tournament's debut"

Though, I wouldn't be surprised to find out the person who wrote the headline doesn't consider women sports to be real sports.

Just don't let transgender women compete. That would be a travesty.

That's because you never have objection to anything republicans do.

Kashyap is a pedophile protecting podcast bro who spent $100,000 taxpayer dollars to go jump around like a drunken frat boy. Shared jokes mocking the women's teams. And behaved like there was a reason the head of the FBI should be in Italy rather than tearing people found in the Epstein files.

By the way, Olympic athletes have to raise their own money to go to the Olympics to compete.

Kashyap, like the entire Trump administration, is a disgrace to this nation.

What? Hilarious. Its wonderful, why wouldn't you support your military? How is that a politicalization of the "big game"?

You don't even understand that doing a flyover is political.

You mean I am not stupid enough to believe a military fly over is politically a conservative or liberal statement?

What a stupid idea it is that the winning an olympic event and cheering for you country is some political statement.

You really do hate America. My guess is under a Democrat President you don't mind it, but your hatred of Trump out weighs your love of country.

@#29 ... It sure made Patel look like an immature idiot, though. ...

As he used taxpayer money to fly to that celebration.

But then there's this ...

Jim Jordan defends Patel's Olympic partying, citing security focus' of trip
thehill.com

... Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) on Tuesday dismissed criticism against FBI Director Kash Patel for partying in the locker room with the U.S. men's hockey team following their gold medal win at the Olympics.

Jordan brushed off concern when asked by CNN's Manu Raju whether the House Judiciary Committee, which Jordan chairs, should "look into" Patel's actions.

"I think he was over there because of security," Jordan said, citing the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. "The FBI is, I'm sure, going to be involved in making sure things are secure for the spectators, for the athletes, for people who are coming there. From my understanding, he's doing all that."

"There's a security focus, I think that's there and, oh by the way, our team just won in this amazing game," he added.

Patel's alleged use of government-owned private jets for personal travel reentered the spotlight over the weekend after a viral video showed him drinking beers with players in the Team USA locker room following their 2-1 overtime victory against Canada on the final day of the Winter Olympics. ...

So... Rep Jordan "thinks" there might be a security focus there.

OK, then.

Apparently, that is an established desire for him ...

Donald Trump had a habit of walking into the dressing rooms of teen beauty queens (2016)
www.vice.com

... As owner of the Miss Teen USA pageant franchise, Donald Trump felt entitled to walk into the dressing rooms of aspiring young beauty queens.

Four women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant told BuzzFeed that Trump would often show up in their dressing room unannounced while the contestants, some as young as 15, were changing.

"I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, Oh my god, there's a man in here'," Mariah Billado, former Miss Vermont Teen USA, told BuzzFeed reporters. She remembers Trump's response -- that he said something along the lines of "Don't worry, ladies, I've seen it all before."

Tasha Dixon, the former Miss Teen Arizona, competed in the 2001 Teen USA pageant. She was 18 at the time and remembers how Trump would "come strolling right in" when girls were "half-naked, changing into [their] bikinis ... .some girls were topless. Other girls were naked," according to an interview with the CBS station in Los Angeles.

"There was no second to put a robe on or any sort of clothing," Dixon said. She said that was most of the girls' first introduction to Trump. She said that Trump's behavior put her and the other pageant contestants in a "very physically vulnerable position," and that his entrance was usually accompanied by "the pressure of the people that worked for him telling us to go fawn all over him, go walk up to him, talk to him, get his attention."

Trump apparently considered access to the women's changing rooms one of the perks of owning the beauty pageant franchises MissUniverse and Miss Teen USA, which he bought in 1996. ...
