As many predicted, the next leader will be more radical than the last.
"FATHER'S "GATEKEEPER" Mojtaba amassed power under his father as a senior figure close to the security forces and the vast business empire they control. He has opposed reformers seeking to engage with the West as it tries to curb Iran's nuclear programme.
His close ties with the elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) give him added leverage across Iran's political and security apparatus and he has built up influence behind the scenes as his father's "gatekeeper", sources familiar with the matter said.
"He has strong constituency and support within the IRGC, in particular amongst the younger radical generations," said Kasra Aarabi, head of researching the IRGC at United Against Nuclear Iran, a U.S.-based policy organization."

Written before his elevation, this article has info about Ali Khamenei, the new Iranian Ayatollah.
As you'll read, he's been running things for his father for years. A lightweight cleric and more of a hardliner than his father.

Congrats, taxpayers! You spent $10B to replace 86-year-old dictator with his 56-year-old son.

The worst thing for the US is to unite the Iranian people to fight back, and of course, for the world, as the Straits are easily disrupted.

Ali Khamenei was almost 87 when he was assassinated... He was a man at the end of his life anyway... Realistically... he could've died any day... regardless of the senile chest-thumping from the right... that toppling of a leader quite frankly did little more than kill a geezer... and his son Mojtaba Khamenei who is 56... would've taken over... a-n-y-w-a-y... soooooooooooo... here we are...
Mojitaba... a man in his most productive prime years... is now at the helm...
because Trumpanzee was covering up his pedophilia... and who knows maybe get in good with Jayzus... you know making all that holy land nice and flat... uninhabitable... for anyone but Jayzus and his magical powers...
Repubublic0wns think this will get him through the pearly gates...
