So, here is something I just learned
The IEA is tapping 400 million barrels of oil to help with the oil shock.
But, you see, apparently all of that oil just doesn't become available.
Oil should not be considered by volume but by rate. How much oil is flowing THROUGH the system.
Around 20 million barrels of oil travel through the strait of hormuz daily (before the war)
However, the strategic reserves can only be drawn down at a rate of around 2 million barrels per day so only 10% of the loss from the strait being blocked
I am sure that other options are available to raise the daily rate, but those are limited, because the countries with that flexibility are, wait for it,....gulf states
America, for example has no ability to increase capacity (rate of moving oil to market) currently, it would take years to build up the infrastructure.
So, this is a major disaster that simply cannot be fixed.
And every day this goes on compounds the problem, not linearly but exponentially.
For the idiots and ignorant like MSGT and BillJ that means every day isnt just worse than the day before but FAR worse than the day before and the day after that is not just worse than that day but FAR worse
And every day is like that
thanks magat scum
