For generations now, the GOP has been far more comfortable than its opponents in quoting Bible verses and talking about how Christianity informs its politics. Democrats, meanwhile, have largely shied away from public proclamations of faith -- such that critics say they have seemed apologetic about Christianity.

So.... summing it up...

Democrats seems to be turning to the Bible to get votes, while Republicans seem to be turning to autocracy to get votes.

Quite the curious turn of events.

The GOP was never Christian.

The GOP was never patriotic.

The GOP was never manly.

Because the GOP was never these things, any pig could have stepped in to lead them.

And so here we are.
