House Speaker Mike Johnson said Tuesday that he could not prove his election fraud claims that three GOP candidates had lost despite being ahead when polls closed.

I'm stuck on this--the WaPo editorial board uncritically repeated a lie that right-wing rage merchants manufactured by selectively editing a video then splattering it across X. It seems these guys' brains have been so cooked by Elon's algorithm that they can no longer identify MAGA-manipulated slop.

More: Trump and several Republicans have been pushing for changes to the way elections are conducted in the U.S., but the president does not have the power to make changes"those lie with Congress. Under the U.S. Constitution, states are given the authority to decide how elections should be run, with the differences leading to debate around mail-in ballots, counting times and voting machines in recent years.

Johnson was the architect of the January 6, 2021, plot to send election results back to several states in a last-ditch failed effort to keep Joe Biden from becoming president.

Wait. Didn't the candidates all understand the rules and the process, when entering the race? Did no one on their election committees explain the process? Those candidates either did not understand the rules of the road, in which case--good riddance--or they understood the rules and now are trying to contravene those rules, which suggests bad faither or criminality.

One would hope that garden gnome Mike will investigate the situation, before letting forth with his intuition, or gut instinct, or bowel movement, whichever happens first...

Officials lying about elections is borderline treasonous territory

As long as there are a lot of voters who keep on voting far right Republican Party there will be lackeys like Mike Johnson willing to do Trump's bidding for money and power. MAGA knows most of what Trump spews is a lie, but they don't care. Goodness knows Mike Johnson hasn't the courage of a MTG, which is kind of an odd truth to spell out.

6. The MAGA cognitive dissonance if all these evangelicals and their toadies have a come-to-Jesus moment about Trump would be delicious.

But that presumes cognition.

So let me get this straight.

Democrats have invented an untraceable, undetectable method for rigging elections and rather than using it to win the presidency, they used it to win a mayoral race in famously blue city in famously blue state that pitted a seasoned politician against a widely dislike reality TV personality with no discernable skills or redeeming qualities. Diabolical is right.
