The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) is down to 340.3 million barrels, according to the data released on Monday. The last time that levels were this low was 1983, when the Reagan administration was filling up the reserve for the first time.

The reserve is at the point where the salt-deposit walls are starting to cave in.

When greed rules over rational organization...think Russian revolution, think many different armies run by the most violent and horrid.
As the oil runs out and we pay for our grand stupidity in listening to the global warming deniers by not having the sustainable energy in place, when huge swaths of America are pretty much unlivable...then the Republican Party will abandon the oil barons...and not before is my guess.
